so, the xbox in my house is not mine, and the guy who owns it is moving out soon so i'm making the conversion to PC gaming, which means re-purchasing games i consider to be essential.

which basically just includes all Bioware and Bethesda games (the RPGs at least)

what games have you bought twice

I've bought Oblivion four times; once for Xbox, twice for PS3, and once again for PC. I bought Mass Effect 1 four times I think; once for PS3 and three times for Xbox. I've bought Mass Effect 2 four times; twice for PS3 and twice for Xbox. I've bought Mass Effect 3 twice, both for PS3. I think I've bought Fallout 3 twice once for PS3 and once for Xbox. That's all I got for now I think.

Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout New Vegas. All were originally on console, but I rebought them when I got an adequate PC. For ze mods :D

I also rebought Kingdom Hearts, a few years after I traded it in and got a real hankering to play it again.

Would you count HD releases? If so, then Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, MGS 1+2, Devil May Cry 1+3.

I own Soul Reaver on every format it was released on. It's not even one of my favourite games. I do like it, but I have no idea what possessed me to buy it so many times.

I originally owned Ocarina of Time on the Zelda: Collector's Edition on the Gamecube, then bought the 3DS version a few months ago.

I own Hitman 2 on the original Xbox and have owned Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast, Gamecube and PC. I've owned the original on Gamecube and Dreamcast, too. I also rebought Psi-Ops for the Xbox when my PS2 copy broke.

I bought The Witcher 2 in a Steam sale after losing my retail copy.

I have several games on both PS3/360 and PC. I barely got to play the PS3 version because the PS3 and 360 aren't mine, so when I got my new PC I rebought them. Games include: Sonic Generations (I also own the 3DS vrsion, but it's a different game, really), Prototype, Dragon Age, Dungeon Siege III, Skyrim and GTA IV (I bought the entire series in a sale, despite owning all of them on consoles and even having the PC version of 2 already)

My game buying habits are terrible...

I bought Deus Ex and the old Fallout games on Steam for the sake of convenience - I have the CDs but I like to be able to install and play them everywhere, since I tend to get back to them a lot.

I Doom and Quake games, some of which I already owned physical copies of, when I got the Id super pack.

I got Legend of Grimrock when it came out, and again when I got the indie bundle it was a part of.

Oh, and I got all the Hitman games as a bonus for preordering Hitman: Absolution, but I'm not sure if it counts.

This gen only?
None yet. All my games I have bought once.
Previous gen?
Way too many to count. Like, every 2 weeks i'd rebuy something.

Let's see here...

GTA IV - I had the physical copy, but traded it off. Then I got the itch for it again so now I have a digital copy.

Enslaved - Bought it on release day. Loved it. Eventually traded it. Recently bought it again.

Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 - I have them on 360 and PC.

Banjo Kazooie and Tooie - Bought them off a friend and also bought them online for a different friend.

ESPN NFL 2K5 - I've bought this game more than twice. Love it.

That's about it, actually. I thought I had more.

Final Fantasy VIII: twice
Final Fantasy IX: twice
Tomb Raider 1 - 5: three times (PS1, original PC Disc and GOG)
C&C Tiberian Dawn: twice (PS1, TFD)
C&C Red Alert: twice (PS1, TFD)
C&C Generals & Zero Hour: twice (Deluxe, TFD)
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars: three times (PS1, PC Disc and Director's Cut)

Not counting HIB etc. Otherwise I'd have put down that I own Super Meat Boy about four or five times. Once is enough. That poor, poor stress ball.

Baldur's gate. I have the original copy but I bought the 4 pack for the expansions aswell as Baldur's gate 2.

I'll also buy the enhanced edition for the additional content sooner or later.

I must have bought, sold, and bought again the Metroid Prime games so many times...
They're kind of tough to get through if you don't know what you're doing (and sometimes even IF you know what you're doing) so I was basically pulling the best rage-quits I could then eventually bought them back again.
I might as well count the time I sold them all back so I could get the Trilogy collection. And I intend to KEEP the Trilogy.

DOOM 3
Fable: TLC (but again as part of a bundle)
Medieval 2 Total War
Rome Total War
Railroad Tycoon 2 (as part of a bundle)
Red Faction 2 (as part of a bundle, originally owned it for PS2)
Bioshock (as part of a bundle)

I've purchased, Botanicula, Machinarium and FTL:Faster Than Light twice. Mainly so I could get a second Linux version to use. I guess I have bought Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 twice if you count getting the HD collection as buying the games again.

Resident Evil 4 and Skyrim.

I rebought Skyrim on PS3 for the DLC. Before they announced that it's a possibility that PS3 won't ever Dawnguard. It was at that point I took it straight back, got my refund and nothing short of complete and utter removal of all plot armor anywhere in the game will ever convince me to bother touching that game again.

Final Fantasy X, Viva Pinata, Oblivion and GTA IV.
I regret none of the second buys, regret selling them in the first place.
