Me and my brother are really eager to find out what this game is, and sorry if it's already been mentioned.
So, the game was compatible with a PlayStation 2 system but the CD didn't say PlayStation 2 so I'm assuming it was a PlayStation 1 game? Anyways, the CD came in a 3 section, foldable, cardboard like case. I vaguely remember the case being yellow-orangish with images of the characters and trees on the folds of the case.
It was a RPG where you were in a village of some sort. You played as a young boy and your objective was apparently to defeat the monster that had been terrorizing the town. I believe the storyline was that a group of men from that village went to fight off something in the forest but were all killed by this beast. I guess the young boy was one of the only warriors remaining in the town? You were able to go inside houses, pick up objects, and interact with the townsfolk. I think in the beginning you were also sent to train by a beach with an expert of some sort. So the last time we actually played that game consisted of a girl waking up the main character from a nap. She was telling him to go outside because the monster had arrived. We went outside and the skies were dark. All you heard was a thunderous booming sound.
Then we punked out, turned off the console, and somehow lost the game. :/
We really want to get a hold of that game again and it would be really awesome if anyone was able to help us out.
Oh, and you could only move with the D-Pad if that holds any significance. Thanks :)

By your description it sounds like one of my favorite games for the PS1 called Legend of Legaia. Edit: your description is actually spot on for the beginning of the game. My case of the game looks different than what you described but its the same game.

There is this game i used to play way back when on the Playstation 1, the main protaginist was a "Johnny Bravo" like character, fighting against an alien race to save these women, i cant remember to much, but it was tons of fun, and as typical as it was, he used a ray gun for a weapon. (no, not Duke Nukem)

Hi all,

Please help me on finding a point and click adventure game.
The platform is MS-DOS or win95, I played the shareware version.
The graphics were 2d. I played it around 2000, but I think it was created earlier.
The name I can recall is 'b7', but I cannot find the game by it's name. It's not the action game based on the Blake's 7 series.

The goal of the shareware version of the game is to escape from a spaceship.

These are the in-game details I can recall:

You have to cause a fire in your cell to get the guards to extinguish it. After that they will let the door open to let the smoke out and post a guard next to your door.
You have to wait until the guard is looking away from you and strangle him from the back. (with an electrical wire or garden hose I think)
After escaping from your cell you'll get in a hallway, with each door having some kind of electrical lock. You could open one by unscrewing it and solving some kind of puzzle.

I recall going through other rooms (of the guards) picking up stuff I needed to escape. (getting it from drawers and cabinets). Probably also finding some other prisoners that didn't survive...

You have escaped from the spaceship and you are on a bare planet, I think most of it is red/orange dirt. You are near a cliff and on the other side is something blinking, probably a ring.

Just before or just after you're able to get the ring the shareware version stops, You get an advertisement for the full version of the game, taking place at a new planet.
I found the game I was looking for, it is called 'B-7'. It is produced by Idee Software, a game development studio in Belgium.
They have released all games as freeware and the game is included in their 'Retrobox' which is to be found at the following link.

http://www.ideesoftware.com/retrobox.htm (Dutch)

Credits go to 'Rutix' on the forum of dosgames.com, he is the one who suggested this game to me.

Ive been trying to find this game for the past hour, so this thread is like my last resort so here goes: From what I remember this game was an early PS2 game with a black box, there where two discs inside said game and it was set on a train, while im not sure if the whole game was set on the train, thats the only part I remember. It was a 3rd person game which involved shooting and guns in some aspect :p and the opening level was definately set on this train, I remember it being kind of linear, just running through the train in a straight line but I loved it dearly...just cant find the friggin thing. Anyone help?? Btw im about 99% sure it isnt a splinter cell game.
It's a long shot, but if it's Splinter-Cell-y, this might be what you're looking for.

Played similar to Syphon Filter, but this one all takes place on a train.

My dad played a game, that I'm desperately trying to recall, on the PS1, I'm sure. It starred a female. And I want to say it was in the vein of gameplay like Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve, or Silent Hill, where you walk around with a gun, and would bring it up and aim. And I want to say the storyline was more espionage-esque, not survival horror. I remember there being big contrasts of light and shadow in the backgrounds, which I'm sure were pre-rendered backgrounds that animated here and there. The main lead was kind of provacative, and I want to say she had black hair. The characters were drawn kind of like cartoon/comic over the pre-rendered backgrounds, which seemed like 2 different styles, but cool at the same time. I remember the game had a lot of Oriental undertones, possibly even the setting, but more modern times. That's really all I can remember.
If it's already been tagged, apologies. But I think you're looking for...

Klonoa, totally. One of my favourite platformers! The original is on PS1, the sequel is on PS2, and they remade the first game for the Wii.

Check it.

Don't ask me why, but that description reminds me of the Gex series [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gex_%28series%29]. I could be wrong, but that's the first thing that came to my mind. =]

Ive got 2 stumpers that come from my 1st days on a PC back in 1996.

1) It seemed like a futuristic 1st person point and click game. All i remember was that it was realistic and not cartooney... 1st area involved walking around a classroom/colony type of place.

2) Other was a quiz game. Contestants were aliens and had some bald real human as the game master... I always played the green tentacled brain alien :)

Thanks and goodluck!
I stumbled upon the 1st game eariler today... it was The Journeyman Project!
Still trying to figure out #2

Second game. This isn't that important to me, but my big brothers wish to know what this one game is called. They didn't remember much about it, they just said it was a game for the MegaDrive, it was a platforming game, the graphics were cartoony, you could turn into a fly (thanks to a special power of some sort) and that's that, they don't remember anything else about it.
Edit: More info about that game, according to my big brother, they got stuck in one boss which was some kind of statue and it rolled its head/something like that at the character. Does that sound familiar to anyone?
Today, finally, I found out what game they were thinking of! It was Kid Chameleon [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kid_Chameleon_%28video_game%29]. Weird game, but seems fun! =D

Kid Chameleon was one of, if not the best games, on the Genesis.
It was truly amazing for it's time. (it would still compete against games today)

Probably the only one I'm trying to think of now is a space sim game where you flew down really tight irregular tunnels at high velocity from a first person perspective. It was the game that first introduced the word 'afterburner' to me.
It was Terminal Velocity! That game had some of the best music ever.

I remember playing it when I was young so it might have been released 1995-2003. The plot started when the boy's dog runs away and he follows the trail ending up with the mob or mafia he dances with a cop too after buying a suit. Please help
It's killing me to remember and google hasn't helped. It was a pc game that had ok graphics and might have been a point and click game but I'm not sure.
Anyone know of any games similar to this, it was definitely a pc game.
I am still looking for the game And can add that the boy wore a green shirt with a red cap and his sister scolds him when his dog goes missing about leaving the door open again.
Please someone help! I'm hoping the more people who read this the better the chance of someone who remembers the game can help solve this mystery for me. I've scoured lists of games based off of their genre in hopes of coming across this game somehow. PLEASE HELP SOMEONE!!!

This was a supremely helpful thread that rendered assistance to many Escapists, my self included. I am loathe to let such a great and useful thread die.

I remember playing a 3D platform game on the iMac G3s at school around 2000 to 2001 in which the main character was a bug, an ant I think. Everything was scaled more or less accurately to how they are relative to real ants, i.e. blades of grass and plants were huge. Any ideas would be appreciated!
