There are always those games that you get into a heated discussion about with a co-worker, friend, family etc. Each time a update, leak, picture is released you seem to get into the same discussion about how you both can't wait for that game and how awesome you know it will be.

What games are you currently gabbing about and why? It is features, developers, something that has never been done before?

The last game I did this with was "Trine". Mostly because it is very similar to "Lost Vikings" but with a beautiful environment. I was also really pumped for this game because it is has been awhile since that type of game has been done.

Well, I'm looking forward to Modern Warfare 2, and Assassins Creed 2 with glee, and still in suspense about the Fallout 3 PS3 DLC (if that counts)

Risen. I'm a sucker for fantasy RPGs, and from what I've read in tests, there's gonna be a lot variety in combat as well as in the missions.

Pretty much the same bar Diablo 3.

Also Mass Effect 2, MW2, and Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. The first COJ was amazing!

I was waiting for SPORE and bought it for full price shortly after release here in the Sinkhole of Europe (aka the Netherlands), something which I rarely, if ever, do. (And no, I don't regret it - despite all its shortcomings, and the fact that it didn't live up to the hype (but then again, what does?), it's a very fun game.)

I'm currently somewhat looking forward to Diablo III, if you've seen the high-res trailer you'll know why.

Other than that, nothing really.

You ask a question and people answer about every sequel under the sun... doesn't anyone make anything original these days?

Thats a very full list however you forget the rerelease of Marvel vs Capcom 2. Other than that I will say that the ones that I look most forward to (all on the list) are Bioshock 2, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Heavy Rain, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Batman Arkham Alliance, Left 4 Dead 2 and ModNation Racers.

Edit: Shit how'd I forget...Brutal Legend!
Edit2: Splinter Cell Conviction.

Honestly I've stopped with the "cannot wait" thing with regard to games. Its started becoming a question of dealing with what games are currently out and taking what I want from that. The most recent game I own would be Prince of Persia and that's because I got it as a gift from my parents. The thing is just that the game hyping world has left me with so little money by the end of each November that I can no longer justify the purchasing of games. In addition I can no longer really look at reviews as accurate and have to go on the subsequent opinions of people I trust.

In short, I'm not hyped about games. If a game gets a particular amount of recommendation from a source a respect like this one [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Susan+Arendt] or even people [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Baby%20Tea] who's taste [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/NewClassic] I respect [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Michael_McCloud] then I'll check it out for myself by looking at game footage and the like.
The people I mentioned are not the only people who's taste in games I trust but they have generally led me to no wrong. There are others though.
