About half the bosses in Catherine. (The "Immoral Beast" boss is particularly disturbing when you consider the conversation you have with the little blonde bimbo the next morning. <_<)

While I loved LA Noire, the very realistic faces, especially the overacting if the character was lying, was visually disconnecting to me when you noticed how awkward some of their bodies were compared to their heads. Creepy!!
Also, Cole just looked angry the whole game.

When I was younger I always thought the visuals in the N64 Zelda games were creepy, which is one of the reason why I never played them (the other being that I never had a N64.) Hell, even now I still find them a bit creepy looking.
That's why I love Wind Waker so much.

I find the Mother/Earthbound series to be quite unnerving - in particular the boss fight with Giygas in Mother 2. Everything about that fight is just creepy as all hell. The further along you defeat him, the more disturbing and frightening it becomes.

Here, and I warned you. This is the latter half of the fight. It's from 4:05 that things get really crazy.

The Stalker Games. Ever been caught outside during one of the Emissions?

Run. Don't stop to stare. Get indoors, or die.
I just started playing Shadow of Chernobyl and have yet to see anything like that. What are these emissions you speak of and when/where do they occur?

I absolutely love the visual style of the STALKER games. The muted tones and fantastic lighting effects, not to mention the attention to detail and ambient music, all working together to make a brilliantly ambient and creepy experience at times.

Also, this.

Something about the super-low-poly monsters in Thief still creeps me the hell out.

On top of that, this may seem strange, but the walking animations in Morrowind were always vaguely horrifying to me. The whole game looked like it was animated by a particularly lazy ten-year-old, but watching the characters walk around was immensely off-putting. It was like everyone was legless, and walked around on bent stilts that caused them to sway from side to side with every step. Coupled with the bizarrely-proportioned faces, Morrowind's characters fall far deeper into the uncanny valley than Oblivion's boxy potato people.

I feel like the only one that thought the original tomb raider was kind of creepy just because of that, the graphics and the sound.

You'll eventually encounter them in Shadow of Chernobyl as scripted events. The later game Call of Pripyat one-ups the original game by making them a random event possible at almost any time, adding yet another tinge of danger to an already intense experience.

As for just what they are and what happens. Well, you'll see!

Good call on the old Thief games.

I'm playing Call of Pripyat. I'm not sure if the Emissions occur in the other games, but they are scary as hell to be outside in.
