game I hated for a stupid reason...left 4 dead I guess. because it was an extremely overhyped and thus disappointing game followed by a crappy sequel. still can't understand the appeal and I'm a bit of a zombie nut too.

I don't like head-bob. You know, where the camera in first-person games bobs up and down while you walk. That alone ruined System Shock 2, Deus Ex, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and Bioshock for me.

My life is pain.

Any japanese game where the charaters are super cartoony with giant eyes and they all have that emo kid haircut and female characters are seriously unproportionate and you can't tell which sex a person is until they start speaking also the dialog is god awful which may be due to the translation but even still I'm not learning japanese to play a game!!!!

I resented Mass Effect 2 when it first came out, because I thought I'd deleted my old ME1 save.

It wasn't until about a month later, I realised I still had it, so quickly went out and bought ME2. :)

I hate Bayonetta because everything about it that isn't a game mechanic (and some things that are game mechanics) is utterly retarded.

I hate Bullet Witch and Legendary because they bore me and did nothing new.
Being boring and non innovative is a stupid reason to hate a game? What's a good reason? It rapes your family?

PoP Warrior Within. About 2/3 through the game a ledge glitched out and wasn't long enough for me to reach the next platform, and all of my 6 previous saves came up with the same problem. Safe to say that game got raged at and left on the shelf never to be touched again until I get over the crushing emotional barrier of literally not being able to play it and have another go, hoping it won't glitch out!

I loathe Spore because I played for hours then it crashed as I was about to hit space-travel and wiped my saved files. I have a better rig now, and could probably play it through. But I don't want to now.

I have a love / hate relationship with the Pokemon series of games. Mainly because they all require you to have a friend with the corresponding version of the game in order to 'complete' it fully.

I am a completionist, and it really pisses me off that I can't finish a pokedex, ever. Even Soul Silver mocks me, with its wi-fi connectivity that wont work with my router. I still don't know what it's like, I'm hoping that one day I will get it working and discover some sort of online marketplace where you can trade freely with random strangers. On that day, I shall be happy.

I dislike videogames for all sorts of dumb reasons. Please take none of this seriously ;-).

I have an irrational prejudice against FPSes because of the whole "mature = violence (and sex)" trope that just won't die, and because I don't like the fact that an entire genre of video games is predicated on killing. (To be clear, I don't think video games cause people to act violently (except maybe in frustration, but even then there are extrinsic psychological factors), and I do realise that videogames are fictional.)

Anything that smells of "generic high fantasy" turns me off, especially when it's written like a bad pastiche of the Old Testament, although I still like Zelda for some reason.

I downloaded a WOW trial, got stuck, got bored, and never went back to it.

Anything that involves paying real money for virtual goods is anathaema to me, so that's social network gaming out the window.

Art games make me feel stupid and uncultured for not understanding their profound messages like "We're all going to die one day".

JRPGs? Too long, tedious; hate random turn-based battles.

Anything by Nintendo is the same game with a bunch of new gimmicks thrown in to make us forget that we're paying for rehashed goods.

Then there are games that are so acclaimed that I'm basically afraid to try them. Example: anything by Team Ico.

There are probably other dumb reasons to hate things, but I'm too tired to think of any.

Dragon Age Origins - Because pressing one button to have your character repeatedly slash at an enemy while you sit back and watch just seems retarded to me.
There is more than one button to press, you know.

OT: I "hate" (read: dislike because of but still play and enjoy) L4D2 for breaking the simplicity of the first game.

Everything was so straightforward! X number of weapons, countered by Y strategy. It turned into an art form by the end. Now it's just complicated.

[small]which is how it's supposed to be but stop correcting me[/small]

Supreme Commander 2.
The unit colors are too bright...
I still play it, just bothers the crap out of me...

Also Counter Strike Source, for being too easy...
It's like putting training wheels on 1.6 and hyping up the graphics...
Also headshots aren't as satisfying. I can never replace the classic backward reel with bloodsplatter flying in an upward back angle...
1.6 veteran and pro here, nothing is and ever will be better.

I hate the Super Smash Brothers series because it is a button spam-a-thon of a game where anyone can win regardless of skill. I guess that's why it appeals to some.
