Assassins Creed III: When Desmond died, I knew that the storyline died with him. The game's storyline also wasn't too strong to begin with. I hear great gameplay things about IV, but until these guys can write a complete story--and an ending that doesn't feel phoned in like in all the other games--I will not be buying another one of those games.

Those are it. I've given a few games away as presents, but those are the gains that I went, "Nope, I'm done."
Spoilers for ACIII, I've finished the game myself but spoilers none the less. Especially for a series that spent 5 years building that up.
No one likes Desmond, and the fact that he dies at the end of AC3 means pretty much nothing to the plot. There's no point in spoilering it.

Bioshock: Infinite. I beat it and enjoyed the ending. Still, I felt it had no re-play value and actually traded it in for the next game mentioned. To this day, I still forget both even existed.

Gears of War Judgement. Same story, except I'm a huge GOW fan that got immensely let down by both game modes. So much so that I didn't even commit to beating it.

Christ, I could list dozens.

But I'll stick with two.

Metro Last Light.

I tried to enjoy it, I really did. Then one level proved too much for my poor old graphics card. It became literally unplayable. Usually I would have been hugely pissed about this. But the game was so 'meh' that I just shrugged and went to play something better. I was actually kind of glad for the excuse to give it up in a way that my mild completionist tendencies would allow for.

Red Dead Redemption.

Actually enjoyed it quite a lot to begin with. I had my issues, like the auto-aiming that allowed me to literally win gunfights with my eyes closed (and turning it off makes firing from horseback near impossible). But I was definitely on board. Then it kept going. And going. And going. And fucking going. Then The Big Thing happened which I was probably supposed to be sad about but was actually just glad that the tedium was over. Then it kept fucking going some more. I struggled through to the end, then traded it in without a second thought.

Assassins Creed...when I started up that game I soon realized how BLATANT the commercials were lying to me, I had visions of an open medieval world where you're an assassin taking up contracts to assassinate people in unique and interesting ways. Like make it look like an accident by making someone "fall" off a cliff or pin the murder on someone else killing two birds with one stone, start a war by murdering two opposing faction leaders and pinning it on one another causing huge conflict in the world thus creating more jobs for you but in turn cause A LOT OF SHIT TO GO DOWN!

What did I get!? A bullshit "Relive these DNA memories of your ancestors THAT EFFECT YOU OR THE GAME WORLD IN ABSOLUTELY NO FUCKING WAY BECAUSE YOU KNOW HOW THIS SHIT WILL END BECAUSE YOU'RE FUCKING ALIVE!" YOU NEVER LEAVE THAT LITTLE BLOODY ROOM YOU START IN FOR MOST OF THE DAMNED GAME, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?

I'd not like they wanted to pull this twist on me later, no they just wanted to shiv me now and get it over with by pouring salt into the wound. I do not play games to play games inside my mother fucking game! Unless it's a side thing and is actually fun and has some baring on the game in some way like money or items fine, but piss off if you're gonna make your entire game this.

Why get invested in anything? EVERYONE IS DEAD,the only people that aren't dead are boring and unimaginative to say the least. Desmond was one of the WORST main character dudes I've ever played as, I would rather play FF13 and it's sequel and go through it's batshit insane story where it flat out tells you "This area for the next 8 hours is a complete waste of time other then to just level you up"...at least I'm interacting with tangible stuff and effecting the world in it's own terrible stupid way.

The lies and betrayal I took from this game will NEVER be forgiven in any respect...I spit on this game and glad I took it back as soon as possible, never again...that was my first and last buyer beware situation, now I always research the damned game I wanna buy before I buy it. I refuse to get bent over the table again. Good bye forever AC, hope you suffer with Hel for all eternity!

Batman: Vengeance. I have said multiple times that this is quite possibly the most vile game I've ever had the misfortune to play, and that opinion hasn't changed. When I got rid of it, it was a great thing.

Baroque. A common complaint I've heard about tutorials in modern games is how they have to make a big damn deal outta every little action. Baroque has gone the complete opposite route by having, as near as I can remember, absolutely no tutorials at allll. AT all. At ALL. There's a short cutscene, and you're dropped into the game with zero direction, characterization, tutorial, nada. Maybe if I'd stuck with it for another hour or two I would've figured it out but I could already tell that this game was well and truly beyond me.

None, really. I personally feel I need to take the sour with the sweet. Games I didn't enjoy that much (like Dragon Age: Origins, L.A. Noire, Bayonetta) still get to keep their places in my library. I generally find some enjoyment in every title I play, and for those little things I can't let them go. I've sold some games in the past (mostly games I had on multiple platforms), but I always regretted it.

Over the years I've become more careful about what to buy. I know by now what I like and dislike, so I rarely buy anything nowadays that I don't enjoy.

James Cameron's Avatar the game

That was the WORST game I have EVER played! I think I ripped them off when I got $1 for it!

ACIII

I wanted an epic 'MUERICA fueled romp through the world of Johnny Trumaine. Killing red coats in the name of democracy.

Instead... I don't know what the fuck was going on. I quit around the mission where I was chasing down the indian girl. It was just boring. Plus they got rid of the ability to slaughter civilians in the street. Why the fuck did they do that? So much of the fun I had in ACII was just walking around civilians, and slipping the knife into someones side then casually walking away,

Also, Skyrim. I've since rebought it, but I just have such a difficult time getting into fantasy. I don't understand how in this world they can have powerful magic, but they can't figure out how to make a gun.

I returned Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 days a few years after receiving it. I now passionately fight people who defend its boring, repetitive gameplay in favor of its horrible story.

Seriously fuck that game.

Then again I did manage to trade it in along with Fable 3 to get Skryim for five dollars, so not a complete loss.

Max Payne 3

There's few games that I have as much distain for as this one. The loading issues are already unforgivable. The main menu had a load screen, the frikking load screens even had load screens. And the cutscenes were unskippable for a good 5 minutes because it had to load in the levels. I don't know what the fuck made Rockstar think this was acceptable.

Apart from that, the shooting action was a frustrating clusterfuck. Enemies had dead-aim, taking 1/3 or more off of your health before you even had time to react. There was no way to anticipate enemy attacks since they just jumped out of nowhere. That 'last chance' bullet time mechanic was completely broken, with the camera often flipping out not giving me the correct angle. Everytime you slo-mo dived, you would awkwardly stand up and expose yourself before you could take cover, instead of, oh I don't know, simply slo-mo diving into cover.

Cutscenes would change the weapon you were previously holding from your shotgun/machine gun to your handgun. And then thrust you right in the middle of a gun fight against three or more opponents without any starting cover. This made me wonder if Rockstar were taking stupid pills during the developement, or just going through a really bad divorce or something.

And finally, the game is so obnoxiously grimdark it's pathetic. Every character is a giant slimey asshole with zero likable or interesting traits, and Max's dialoge is so overly bleak and whiny it's like a 14-year old wrote it.

I fucking hate this game with every fiber of my being, and I was glad to see it go.

Resident Evil 6, good fucking riddance with your one long boring repetative boss fight of a game. Gamestop gave me ?25 for it and I was over-joyed. I wouldn't have given ?5 for that rubbish. Same goes for NeverDead.

I haven't traded in my copy of Dead Island but that broken mess of a game certainly stopped me from buying Riptide.

The only game which immediately springs to mind is WET.

The controls felt clunky, the quick time events were awful, and playing it felt like more of a chore than anything else.

I don't really tend to sell or trade in games all that often anymore. The console games I've bought are generally games I've either played before (nostalgia!) or titles I've ended up growing really, really attached to (like Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing: New Leaf or Pokemon X).

If there was an option to sell or trade in Steam games, that'd probably be a completely different story...

Every yearly EA sports title I ended up getting for something.

Other then that every non-sport games seeming wanted to come back to bite me in the butt.

Kingdoms under fire and bomber-man act zero for the 360, why on earth did I have friends that all of a sudden wanted to play this junk, At least the one I could get for like 5 bucks new.

Though I didn't technically pay for it, I felt a lot better after I uninstalled League of Legends for good. I love me a good moba and it had started out very well, but good god if that wasn't the most painful community I've ever run across and the whole buy your character business model got really old really quick. I hated how many times I had spent tons of in game money on a new champ only to realize that the character was either just awful or exactly the as someone else I had already purchased.

I will also throw out Dark Souls as well. I absolutely love the sequel to it but the first one just felt choppy to me, I really just disliked the hub world you always had to go back to. I also found the story in the first to be even more cryptic than the sequel as well. All I can remember is the crazy demon lady with no eyes and some kinda monk person...

Soulbringer.
An old game from the Interplay fellows that I finished in two months and felt truly exhausted by the end of. Exhausted as in, 'Why did I run a marathon with a broken foot?' exhausted.
I could not flog that game to some other poor sod fast enough.

Saints Row: The Third

Throw in the lack of any challenge to begin with, the boring and depressingly short story )especially when compared to SR1 and SR2), the lifeless city, and the horrible upgrades that you cannot turn off, mixed with the significantly reduced customization system that offered less than Guitar Hero Metallica all adds up to a game I gladly sold and never want to see again.

I very rarely trade in games, as I usually find something that I enjoy about the game, but my brother did end up buying Bioshock: infinite off me when I told him that I was going to trade it in because I had no desire to play it again after I beat it, he recently did the same thing again when I was going to trade in Killer is dead as I hated the story, and the characters, just the whole game in general, so he bought it off me as he wanted to play the games for himself. He still has both games and he enjoys them. As for myself, I do not regret selling them to him one bit.
