Games you ended up liking a lot more on your second playthrough. Or my thoughts on New Vegas.

Metal Gear Solid. I hated it when I first played it. So much so, I didn't get very far. I recently installed it again and no I'm playing Metal Gear Solid 3 because these games are fucking awesome.

Also, I totally agree with you on the New Vegas thing! It's a whole lot better second time around!

And yeah, Metro 2033 was one of these, too. It's better when you go into it knowing what to expect.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I found my first playthrough to be rather frustrating. I guess I just wasn't used to the more tactical variety of shooting, where your health is low and you have to carefully time your shots. I'm enjoying it much more the second time around, though I am playing as a stealthy character, so combat isn't much of an issue anymore :p

The witcher. Oh boy, I hated that game the first time I tried to playthrough. I barely got trough the "startup"/first act, before I gave up. I felt the dialouge and voice-acting was terrible, and when I got to the first inn, the bartender just killed the game for me.

Then half a year later, I gave it a new chance, and fell in love with the game. Not instantly, but a bit later than the first inn. I still haven't finished it though, as a bug with the quests killed my motivation. So it's sitting in my steam library, waiting for me to return.

I didn't really like New Vegas all that much when I first started playing it either.

I can't quite put my finger on what it was either.
Was it the bugginess? I got the PS3 version and after a certain amount of time is slowed down to a crawl so I had to go beat it. Does anyone know if they fixed it? I may try it again tonight.

No, nothing like that.

I think it was the atmosphere.

Didn't really feel like I was in a wasteland for a while, not like in Fallout 3, where it's apparent as soon as you leave the vault.

Y'know, I don't think I've ever done a second playthrough of a game. (bar minecraft, but that's not really meant for a long story or a long stay in that world)

I guess Katawa shoujo I played a second time. But I think I actually liked it less the second time :/

Assassin's creed. The amount of faffing about annoyed me a great deal the first time, but on a replay in which I knew how to do as little faffing about as possible and get through the game, I realised how great the story was.

On the subject of Fallout: New Vegas. I recently completed the "I Could Make You Care" quest.

Goddammit, by the time it was over, I just wanted to give Veronica a hug. :(

I liked Other M alot more on the second run. Oh I still think it blows but it blowed less once I discovered how to do the over blast move and unlocked the ability to skip the cutscenes.

I gotta say it's an old game. It's Monster Rancher 2. And the4 second playthrough is well, almost a decade in-between. With my age and tactics, I've learned such an old game for kids has a very complicated and intricate way on how you actually ace the game. To me it's one of the best examples of easy to play, hard to master. Or in this case it might be easy to not know what to do, hard to master.
I can't believe someone else actually suggested this before me... You, my friend, have excellent taste!

I'm gonna say KOTOR 2 then... it really helps you get in the heads of each character, especially Kreia, and understand them better. God I love that game, need to get the PC version for the restoration mod some time soon.
