Dark Side story of Knights of the Old Republic, because it made myself cringe at the things I did, but in the end, I still enjoyed it.

Also, I really liked both Assassins Creed and Mirror's Edge, and most reviewers can't seem to stop bashing them.

People keep telling me that I should hate Halo, that I shouldn't play it. That it sucks. That playing it makes me a pathetic annoying little fanboy playing his mindless generic shooter and that I should play Call of Duty instead.
All I have to say to that is:
"If I'm going to be a fanboy I'd rather be a happy fanboy playing a game that he actually likes instead of a bored loser playing a game that everyone tells him to play."

Kingdom Hearts 2, mostly because the idea of mixing Disney and Final FAntasy sounds like a load of garbage on paper.

I'm lucky enough to not notice negative hype that often, but... Quest 64? Sure, it feels a little unfinished, but it's still fun. For more recent games...well, I'm apparently supposed to hate the Naruto: Clash of Ninja series for being "button-mashy."

Biggest mention: I'm supposed to hate Sonic Heroes, for a not-that interesting story I never paid attention to anyway (Knuckles is unusually chummy with Sonic...so what?), and glitches that I've yet to come across. Maybe if I'd played any other Sonic game since Sonic 3 and Knuckles, I'd be more bile-filled...

If we're talkin' unpopular, then there's just too many, and I wouldn't know where to start.

As far as enjoying a shitty game: I loved the original Dragon Warrior/Quest when I was a kid. But looking back on it, it was a boring, mindless grindfest. So yeah, I *shouldn't* have enjoyed that game. I'm not really sure why I did enjoy it.. probably the sense of adventure/exploration. But the RPGin' was so dreadfully basic and brain-dead, I don't know why I didn't just play Zelda.

I actually enjoyed Turok (on 360) for a while, until I got to the ridiculously-spaced checkpoints later in the game.

I also rather liked Enter The Matrix, because you can actually often afford to go out of your way to do wall-kicks and bullet-dodges...enemies go down fairly quickly if you're in a tight spot.

On the same note, Path Of Neo was also really really fun for quite a while...then it started getting repetitive. The "red pill" missions were REALLY awesome...too bad there were only three of them, I think. Still, this game got average reviews compared to EtM's fairly poor ones, so it doesn't count as much. I liked Gamespot's description of focus: "it definitely ups the effectiveness of your attacks, as well as your dodge moves, which go from neat to damn near spectacular in bullet time." Good times. :D
I loved both of those games as well. I think I liked Path of Neo a little bit more. On a more recent note, Wanted: Weapons of Fate. Kind of shitty reviews, but I had so much fun playing through it.

The Star Wars fighting game:Masters of the Tera Kesai for the PS1. It regularly appears on worst fighting game lists but that doesn't matter when you're seven. Also Enter the Matrix as many of you have said.

The Force Unleashed, the Wii version.. yes it was panned but it'd been a boyhood dream to play like a Jedi and use a lightsaber for years and years and years, the noise of the speaker on the wiimote and vibration and while not 1:1 motion tracking, being semi-accurate with which direction you swung the lightsaber immersed me. I had fun playing it through.

It's one of my guilty pleasures.

Post your favorite games that you shouldn't have enjoyed. For example: games that got terrible reviews, were intended for a younger audience, etc.
Intended for a younger audience... Pokemon.
The Pokemon craze hit the US when I was in high school, it's been over 10 years since and I still play PKMN games.
This is one thing that really ticks me off. People assume that Pokemon is purely for kids and that if you get enjoyment out of them past age 10 then you must be some sort of freak. Around fourth grade, everyone at my school decided that any game that didn't have several gallons of gore on screen at all times wasn't worth playing. So, I was outted for liking Pokemon. Really, people, we should all just accept that if you like them, you like them, and it's not a sign of immaturity.

That said, I'm still ashamed of liking Pokemon. The anime's shark jumping and the crapiness of the new Pokemon made me mostly hate it, but I never quite let go of the games... not for the supposed immaturity, though. That's the point I want to stress.

Any of the WWE wrestling games. They are so bad, yet I find myself picking them up when no one is around...
