I love football(the soccer variety).I played it for years,I watch it regularly,I keep up to date on all the latest news etc. ..and yet I have no interest in football games like FIFA or PES.I've played plenty of them over the years and frankly find them boring

Thing is though I can't help but feel like I should enjoy them seeing as I enjoy virtually every other aspect of the sport. So every year I'll try the demos and every year no interest

So what about everyone else?Is there a particular game or genre of game that you feel you should enjoy but for whatever reasons you don't?

Mass Effect 2

Loved the original enough to play it about once a year. I was really excited for ME2, did a 100% playthrough a few weeks before 2 came out just to carry it over. But for Mass Effect 2...They trimmed too much fat, leaving me with a corridor shooter. It's very shallow in the stat management. Great story and lore, boring gameplay. Unfortunately, I like some depth in my RPGs.

I actually liked the inventory management of the first game. And having a larger number of skills to develop, with longer cooldown times requiring more strategic use of powers. I played Adept in 2, Vanguard in 1, if that matters to anyone.

Thank god for Dragon Age, which gave me them deep lore of Mass Effect, with the stat management I expect of an RPG.

And since I like stat management, you think I'd like games like Diablo, and MMOs, too. But I don't.

God of war II just felt repetitive and uninteresting for the most part. by the end I just didn't care.
I enjoyed the first game though.
I also love the music in the final fantasy games and they've always intrigued me but every time I play one I just get bored.

I should like Left 4 Dead 2. I really should. I loved the idea of new infected, new guns, and new maps. So excited when I opened it up on Christmas last year. Played through the campaigns with the bots, about 5 hours it took me, and that's about as much fun as I'd get out of the game. It feels empty, almost soulless. I get on good pub versus teams and destroy the other team and yet I don't feel the satisfaction of omnomnoming on human flesh like I did, and still do, in Left 4 Dead 1.

black ops.

Thought I'd love it, only got to level 20 so far.

And, in lesser measure, Mass Effect 2. LOVED 1, but only played 2 2 times, then I got bored.

Modern shooters. I just cant get into them any more.

I miss the good old days. When you could pack enough weapons to rival a small army. And clear out a room with one shot with the uber weapon that has limited ammo.

i kinda agree with you there. my biggest complaints with 2 were, first and foremost, the characters. imo, Ellis, the damn redneck (which means he's the one i'd hate the most in real life) is the only character i found engaging at all. my second complaint is that the game felt less balanced than the first. in L4D 1, if your teamwork was good, nothing was insurmountable. but in 2, you might have perfect teamwork and then get hit by a smoker, spitter, jockey and hunter at once and pretty much instawipe (or somesuch, not a perfect example).

I feel I should like the Fallout series, as in several ways it's similar to Oblivion, which I raped over, but I got Fallout 3 for the 360, played it for 2 hours, and just hated it.

Although recently I bought it for the PC and it came today, I much prefer PC games to console games, even if they are the same game, so I'm giving Fallout another chance, as soon as I complete Dragon Age.

I believe there were some really bad issues (and may still be) with the hitboxes of the new infected on release. That and the hunter's avatar.. Something about the speed at which it moves changed, and it's a step back when you hop from L4D1 versus to L4D2's. Movement speed feels slow, versus games feel slow and overall the game is fairly unpolished.

I should like Halo Reach (or any Halo game) but after playing CS and COD, Halo seems repetitive

The Witcher. Maybe it's because I waited so long to play and and by the time I did, I had already played way better RPGs (like Dragon Age) but I've never been able to get into it very much

To be honest, a lot of what bothers me is the fact that it seems like every girl you can talk to in the game seems overly eager to jump on your witch-stick with the slightest amount of corny flirting. Okay sure, it's not always a matter of walking up and saying "HEY! have sex with me" but on more than one occasion you do a small favor for someone and are rewarded with sex. Well, a PG-13 cut scene followed by an ironically X-rated card, usually with the girl in question with her tits out or something. It just makes the game feel too much like a softcore porn movie with more emphasis on the story. I mean, I love boobs and all, it just makes the game feel kinda misogynist
