Games you find yourself playing without thinking when you're bored

I was just wondering what past kick-ass games people tend to play these days.
I mean (this one aint that old but meh) whenever I haven't got anything new I tend to play "Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl" or I bring out the good ole N64 and have myself a bit of "Ocarina of time".
Any game, any console, any period of time... thought?

Some games I always fall back on when bored, are Goldeneye, Starcraft, Chrono Trigger and Jedi Outcast. I always play these at least 1 a year if not more.

I don't really have any, I always choose really intense gaming experiences. If I want to be slightly mindless I pick up the guitar and noodle for a bit.

Mario Kart, Neverwinter Nights 2 and Civilization 4. Maybe a bit of Warcraft 3 if I'm desperate.

Devil May Cry 3 has reached the point where I can do it without thinking (...on any difficulty below "Dante Must Die"). Also, Bejeweled, which has the benefit of being portable.

It's to the point where I don't even have to think to do guitar/bass. However, I still have to think to do vocals/drums.

One of the old C&C games. I simply fall back on the strategy of "make fucking everything possible then march them at the enemy". It works wonders to relieve stress.

I would think of one but when my brain turns off I don't remember what I played. That or I just sit here, and stare...blankly into the abyss that is my wall...good times.
