Most, I suck at video games. Except for the Shin Megami Tensei series, I do those on the hardest, I like the strategy of those ones.

I have to agree with Dragon Age. I beat it the first time on normal extremely easy, but when I went through playthrough 2 as a rogue it was much harder.

I guess mages are just OP.

Bioshock. I know, I know.

Most strategy games of any kind, some shooters, the Avernum games. Oh, and Touhou. Initially, anyway - I've moved to Normal by now.

On the bright side, I've finished Nethack, Dungeon Crawl, ADOM and IWBTG, so I don't feel too bad about playing games on Easy.

The World Ends With You, and I didn't even /care/. Some of those bosses took my lunch money and THEN beat me up.

Generally I try to never change difficulties in games, though. I like to stick with something until the end. I almost broke recently in inFamous, as the game started me on hard, but I managed to get through.

Dead Space. The whole game.

Halo: CE
specifically because of one section where two grunts with rockets and a sword-wielding elite kept appearing in a narrow hallway and removed my limbs.
I could do it in normal, but the jump between normal and heroic in that game was monumental. Assault on the Control Room was a great level tho. I loved that one.

The only trouble I ever had on normal in Halo:CE was when flood had god damn rockets. Covenant in a corridor can just be exploded with a couple grenades, but a combat form with no sense of self preservation and a 102mm high-explosive anti-tank rocket (and you can't always tell if it even has one), jumping right in your face? It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack that will blow up if you get too close!

I lol'd. I thought this was a thread for games that you put on Easy so you can enjoy destroying every thing that moves with the power ups you had from the previous play through.

I've never "dropped the difficulty" to beat a game. It's all or nothing. I started Batman: Arkham Asylum on Hard for my first play through. I tried and tried again until I beat the boss or part I struggled with. I eventually carried on to getting 100% of the Trophies.

It's how Team Ninja makes their games. Failures are failures.

I'm re-doing Prototype all on Easy because Medium difficulty doesn't give you enough time for the final boss (1 minute 30 seconds? Lick my clean-shaven balls!)
I played that on Normal for my play through and there's one attack that literally kills him in two or three hits once he's down to that timer. I'm not kidding. I won with around 3/4 of the timer left on the clock.

Well, technically I was still playing on Normal, but since there is no difficulty setting below it, I was doing that for Thief 2. However, there is nothing easy about that game.

I'm trying to remember at the moment if there have been any others recently. I usually play on normal for most things. Not too easy but not too hard, it's how I like it.

i just bought and played through jedi academy on the pc...good god i either suck at the combat or the dark jedi later on in the game were really that hard sometimes. i would save around every single corner in case i ran into one of those guys, or usually two or three of em

id do both buffs, absorb force powers and absorb physical hits, and somehow they would still kill me sometimes!

and i was on easy half the game...i really dont know if im just that bad at the combat or if i need to practice the combos or what.. but sometimes ill killa dual wielder/double bladed lightsaber user in like 4 econds, while sometimes it'll take 10 minutes, an while somtimes they will kill me within 10 seconds. i dont get what the random roll is on the combat.

so if you go into my game save area..i have literally 150 saves or so that i delete every 5 missions or so.

The only time I've used easy was to beat 3 of the brotherhood outcast people in Fallout 3 like 14 seconds after I emerged from the vault. Did stuff in Megaton, raided the general store place, and bam here comes free energy weapons/fallout armor my way. Then I forgot to turn it up and was wondering why the game was boring, and after a while I remembered I changed it and turned it back. I'm not sure how you have fun when you can beat 3+ super mutants with small arms alone.

I went through Aliens vs Predator human campaign on easy because I felt that it was harder than it really was. I constantly went through 'oh damn im gone' moments only to realise my health would never drop below 2 thirds.

Team Ninja's easy setting isnt always honest though, at the very least they need more settings below easy. Having said that their harder difficulties can be brilliantly rewarding once you get on top of the difficulty curve.

A bit off topic but I've always wondered how a pokemon game would be with difficulty settings, they always breeze past to quickly.

MGS. I dunno, I just can't face upping the difficulty and being fisted senseless for it. It's probably a bad experience with MGS2 - The RAYS at the end took the piss.

Also, the level "Acceptable losses" on MW2. I fail to see how in the split, split, split, split second between his friend dying, and him getting a skullfull of shotgun round, close range, can he alert an entire base to my location, of which they previously had no idea. Only done it on 1 star thus far.
I managed it solo on 2 stars, but it's not easy. The trick is to scout out the enemy locations, and then wipe out each small group with the silenced AK. Expect to alert the base at leats once though, in which case it often comes down to being lucky when you take cover and start shooting.

Gears of War 1.

On a less serious note I completed the arena in Oblivion on the easiest difficulty with no armor or weapons just for fun.

GoW: Chains of Olympus. Got all the way to the final boss then I had to give up and switch to normal.

Also, Gears of War. Damn you Raam DAMN YOU
Sniper and the cross bow head shots will beat him before he can even reach you. You will need a friend though /:

I like games that allow you to change the difficulty in the middle of the game, a game that is too easy and I did normal mode from fear that it will be too hard and doesn't have a changeable difficulty extremely hinders how fun the game is.

I had to turn down the difficulty in Devil May Cry 3 but after getting familiar with it I beat the game in all difficulties.
