I'm sure we all have a game, maybe even a few, that you hate for whatever reason, but still find yourself playing. Or at least have the urge to play, like a recovering alcoholic craving a shot of bourbon, even though he shouldn't. I've got a few;
Mass Effect 3: Yeah, even though I sold it back, I still have the urge to have another go at it. The gunplay was serviceable and the powers were fun to use, and multiplayer was easily the best part of the game (and isn't that just tragically ironic). The story and writing may be ass, but at least shooting things was fun.
Dead Space 3: Another three, and another franchise given the EA treatment, despite my (completely accurate) Spoonyist cries of "BETRAYAL!", crafting guns was fun and the combat was basically a test to see what ludicrous combo you could get away with. Plus, MacGuyver-ing weapons is pretty in character for Isaac, an engineer, to do.
Modern Warfare 2: I imagine a lot of CoD games are going to appear in this thread, and while the gameplay is frustratingly linear, the multiplayer easily exploited and unfun, and the Favella level can go fuck itself, I kinda still like it. The story is utter bullshit and bananas, but then again, so was Metal Gear Solid's and we let them get away with. In fact a lot of the modern CoD games feature ludicrous story lines, but at the same time, I love them for it. Plus Makarov is an awesome bad guy.
