Prototype. I went in expecting a murder-fest and planned to paint NYC red. Waste of 20 euros and ditched it after 10 hours.

Also, I can't ever seem to get into Saints Row 2. It's probably because I fall into the "Fan of SR3 camp who enjoys the insanity," but when I went back to SR2 because of The Third... sorry, couldn't get into it.

Also, the Hitman HD Trilogy (Same reasons as above), Force Unleashed 2 (Too short), Forza3/2 (Not a big fan of realistic driving games, but it came with my 360/was cheap at Gamestop).

Well let's see here:

Sonic 06: Disappointing game that's covered in glitches, has a stupid story, really long and really frequent loading times, Silver "IT'S NO USE" the Hedgehog, and really sloppy controls.

Mirror's Edge: Neat concept, not so great execution. I was kinda glad that I was done playing it so I ended up returning it to GameStop.

Prince of Persia (2008): I only played the game once and never touched it again. The structure of the game felt really weird to me and the fact that you can't really die sorta turned me away from it. I'm sure there's a good game in there somewhere, but I couldn't really be bring myself to do it.

Towns. I bought it after watching some playthroughs on YouTube and I thought it looked like something I would really enjoy... Little did I realize that the UI, controls, and animations are all total crap when you actually sit down and play it yourself. I really wish I hadn't payed full price for it.

The only game I really regret getting in recent memory (I'm sure I've forgotten a couple awful NES games) was Crackdown 2. bought it from a friend for $20. Just recently got around to actually playing it. It was a dull slog through a boring world that had no plot. Granted I haven't played the first one, which I've heard is better, but you'd have to pay me to play anything in this series again.

The first Resistance game.
To be fair, I didn't get it, my boyfriend did. He's one of those people who if they see something on sale, they have to have, regardless of how much they actually want to own it.

Hydrophobia. You get some leniency for being a small studio but that was just broken.
Heh. Try Shadow Harvest: Phantom Ops.
Now THAT'S a broken game. Oh dear lord, I regret the $10 I spent on that game so much. Horrendous AI, overuse of bloom, terrible particle effects that chug the game down. Oh gees. It was horrific.

But I enjoyed Hyrophobia: Prophecy a lot more than you did. I mean, the AI was pretty terrible, and much of the puzzle solving was quite frankly horrible, let alone the voice acting; however, if they had managed to polish it up and expand the game into a proper product, I would have bought it. I enjoyed the game, and the water physics, while punishing to my rig, really felt quite nice. I wish they could license that water tech out and really give us a good water level in a game.

Outside of Shadow Harvest (and Assassin's Creed 2 but don't start me on that) my biggest regret is Foreign Legion: Buckets of Blood. Seriously. Why did I buy that again? I hate horde mode shooters. WTF was I thinking when I bought that?

The Last of Us.

It's just fun at all. Odds are I'm not going to finish it.

Technically it's great and I can tell that a ton of effort was put into it. But somewhere along the line somebody forgot to ask if the game was enjoyable.

Fallout 3. I bought it on release because I was crazy excited about it and it was getting good reviews. I got out of the starting vault and to the next town but I got bored and to this day have never got any further.

I've actually been meaning to give it another go. I originally hated the Witcher1 (I played on a friends computer) but later found I really enjoyed it despite the lousy combat that originally turned me off. Still, the fact that you can get the GOTY edition fairly cheap now and that I've gotten no use out of the $80 or so dollars (Australia...) that I paid years ago, is a bit disappointing.

Other stuff that I've regretted has basically been buying stuff and not getting around to playing a whole lot or finishing until some time later when the price had dropped.

Postal 3. I don't know who at RWS thought it would be a good idea to take Postal 2, a ridiculously fun and violent non-linear first person shooter and turn it into Gears of Postal. Cover mechanics, aggressive linearity, and poorly written jokes. Worst 40$ I've ever spent.

Marvel vs capcom 3 - the first one

Now it may be a good fighting game but its not my type of fighting game. I was sadly let down with a comprehensive single player mode(ie story) and could not get into the fighting mechanics.

Although Martian gothic was a regretable perchace as well. Resident evil clone with a much better story line? Great! Item puzzles so hard you need to have a walkthrough or you will waist your bullets on zombies that NEVER STAY DEAD. :(

Damn, well I guess I'll make a bow rogue now. Yeah, it just isn't really fun, I was hoping to just deal a ton of damage. I was also thinking that I should put Alistair back in, but I don't like him very much, haha. Anyway, thanks, I'll have to look at some wiki's and stuff.
Yeah, if you want a lot of DPS either a combat mage or Dual-Wielding Rogue is the way to go. Spells from a levelled combat mage can be devastating, and a dual wield rogue starts off fairly meh, but kicks ass once you get a few skills up.
Bow Rogues are alright. IMO they start off really weak, but if built well they come into their own end game, where enemies start to just die.
I'd also be curious as to which difficulty you're playing on. First village shouldn't be any trouble. If you are encountering trouble my bets are on either the fact that you put a lot of points into strength on you and your dog, and only a couple into constitution - which with your party leaves you with 4 DPS members, and no healers or tanks - or let Morrigan and Leliana take a lot of damage, and they ended up falling before you did, losing majority of your DPS and leaving you and your dog to take on all the enemies. Even on medium you've got to focus a little on how you build your character in Origins. Not as much as the higher difficulty levels, but yeah...

If you want one of the most OP strategies, be a mage, and keep Morrigan in your party, alongside probably Alistair and either Sten or Zevran - been a while so I don't actually remember who your melees should be. But, get you and Morrigan with the 'Crushing Prison' spells, and things like freeze and that rock throw, and you are largely unstoppable. You just stun lock all the enemies, then shatter them with the rock thing. Largely a control build more than a DPS, but a hold/stun + critical hit or a lot of force [I.E: The thrown rock] will instantly kill most enemies. Its a spell combo like Storm of the Century [Which is a spell combo that is decent, not amazing, but a lot of fun to use].

Seconding The Last of Us. I've played maybe 3 hours and I'm not gonna waste any more time on it. Sometimes I think Naughty Dog would be better off just making movies because they spend all their time and effort on cut scenes and forget to make an enjoyable game.

I bought State of decay on my Xbox. It is awesome at first, but without a friend to help you micromanage it turns out to be more of a nuisance, I hope they add CO-OP cause I really regret buying the game

Some of these I got as gifts.

Eternal Poison
Legend of Legaia
Wild Arms V (I barely played it for an hour before I got obsessed with Oblivion on my new PS3 which later died.)
Breath of Fire 3
Final Fantasy 7
Bayonetta
Blaster Master: Enemy Below (beat it. not as much fun as original.)
Red Ninja: End of Honor
Stretch Panic
Puzzle Quest 2
All the original GB Castlevanias
Atelier Iris 2 and 3 (because my fat PS3 died and I barely got to play 2 and never opened 3 Q_Q)
Metroid: Other M
Gauntlet 2
Folklore (never got close to finishing it due to is being purchased alongside Oblivion and Resistance as my first PS3 games.)
Resistance 2
Dead Space 2
Minecraft (I don't like what its turned into. I preferred it before hunger meter, the nether, and villages etc. were added. I haven't logged in in a year or so.)

Games I WAS going to buy then changed my mind just in time:
Rage
Dead Island

Pokemon Black and White, or Gen 5 in general.

The same old song and dance with this Pokemon Gen; I did not enjoy it for a number of reasons.

This is not to say that the game is incapable of being enjoyed, nor is it flawed or broken that makes it unplayable.

I didn't like this Gen, simple as that, and I can't wait for Gen 6 to come out this October.

Then you got it working far better than I did. When I say it was broken I mean stuff like randomly being taken back to start and control panels not working. I had to do the opening section 4 times.

Eh maybe one day if I'm really bored I'l try to find out how to fix those issue but I'm not particularly motivated to.

I remember seeing shadow harvest and being vaugley interested in but figured it was probably bad. I'm very glad I didn't impulse buy it then

Except my reason for regret was that vanilla MVC3 would never get DLC that was promised, I instead was expected to re-buy it inb4 UMV3 got announced.
To this day I haven't even considered buying a Capcom game, unless its Monster Hunter/Megaman. (implying Capcom cares about Monster Hunter/Megaman...)

OT: Black Friday at GameStop I got Arkham City, LA Noir, and Heavy Rain for a great price.

Even if Batman was there for my enjoyment, I still feel like I didn't get my money's worth... man those two pissed. me. off.

I shall make a list if only because I played them for a little and had no desire to return to them. FUSE (fuck), Batman Arkam City/Asylum (It's simple, I don't care about the Batman), Lollipop Chainsaw (Action games, meh), DmC (Action games, meh), Rememeber Me (Boring) and the Tomb Raider HD Trilogy (It's hideous).

Mostly FUSE. Fuck, I'm livid with scorn for that thing, WHY DID I BUY IT!?
