There are many times when you figure out you just wasted your money.

Some get past the first or second level before you start cut yourself.

Some you figure it out the first time your given control.

Others become Unskippable episodes.

However, there is that rare breed you know in your soul, your going to despise when the game says "press start."

Games that you can judge not by it's cover, but by it's title page.

For example, Legend of Sypro: Dawn of the Dragon has a start screen with a bad looking "teenage Spyro" standing infront of a dark volcano, and next to a female dragon I swear has a giant chest and child bearing hips. It looks like it goes against everything the "silly games starting a young dragon" the series was made on, and playing the game (or just watching the intro) utterly confirms it :(

When I start it up and it says VALVE. I know it will be a game I can't get into. I don't know why, but I have never liked a game by Valve.

Games that look like puns on drugs. Except Blasto!

Blasto! was freaking genius in disguise.

2 Worlds 2 Pissed me off from the start but I gave it a little time like 10 mins before taking it out and putting it away most likely forever...

The witcher, it starts out as a long winded cutscene and ill Im thinking is "

God dammit it would be nice if I could PLAY the bloody thing...you know because its a game and all?"

then I realise I can skip it/its not actually part of the game and I feel like an idiot

but the load screen to me looks like somone just ran a screenshot through a filter in photoshop and it annoys me, the actual game is dull and boring as hell

Frequently when I see the words "Press Start". On a PC game. Frequently means "shoddy console port. Plug in controller to have fun"

I really wish they would release that on PSN. That game was awesome with an awesomesauce topping.

Me, too.

Also when I bought Two Worlds 2. I don't know why, but something about the title screen just screamed "shitty quality." Later I learned that every button press has to buffer, which confirmed my suspicions.

I dare you, I double dare you ************.. play Two Worlds 1. I played Two Worlds 1 for a total of four minutes, and I think one of my lungs collapsed. On the bright side, Two Worlds 2 then seemed like a masterpiece.

I've never had this issue since I've taught myself to never act in a presumptuous nature.

Quantum Theory.

I don't have to say anymore.

Except, for the sake of retaining any shred of dignity I can scrounge up, I didn't actually buy it. Or pay any money to play it.

Pokemon Black.
This turned out to be completely backwards, but from my initial reaction I didn't like it. Then the game actually got fun and now I can't really put it down. (Seriously. I have it paused at the moment.)

Golden Sun: Dark Age.
This one makes me sad... I LOVED the GBA versions of golden sun, but as soon as I actually sat down to play the 3rd one, I realized I was too old to appreciate it anymore. About halfway through the game I just put it down. I couldn't enjoy it.

Final Fantasy 1, 4, any of the numbered ones before they became 3D.
This is unfortunately due to the fact that the first FF game I ever played was 7. The 3D aspect clung onto me and I got completely immersed in both the battle system and graphics. Going back to play the PS1, GBA, and NES versions of 1, 2, 4, and 6, I just couldn't get into them.

Shadow of the Collosus.
Ooooh... Imma get hate for this one. I had the game hyped up by soo many people that I just had to see how good it was. 1 hour into it I had killed the first two collosi and was bored to tears.

Any game that has too many logo intro's before the start menu appears and even then the loading screens really do my head in.

Fable III. It was soul crushing as nothing was different from Fable II
Hey! It was a lot different!

They toned down on the customization, the best part of the series. Whoever thought it was a good idea to have only two types of melee weapons needs to be shot.

OT: As soon as I turned on Red Dead Redemption, I said to myself, "This is not going to be nearly as good as Red Dead Revolver."

And I was right.

I don't mind how many logos there are, just as long as you can skip them. I'll watch the logos the first time (no harm in knowing who was involved in developing the game) but after that they're redundant.

If they are on the box of the game thats good enough for me but putting them at the start of the game seems pointless to me because when i finisht he game i'm going to end up seeing the damn logo's all over again.

I would have to go with Vanquish. Media made it out to be Gears of War on caffeine, but the start menu looked too tranquil. It practically made me take the disc out. And combat in Vanquish is pretty slow anyways. You can't really use a your special speed suit without nearly killing yourself because of enemy fire.
