Overwatch. No interest in playing the game(because multi-player only) but I've seen some of the videos and heard enough via the net.

Pretty much all the popular games people talk about. I only ever occasionally pick up games (being an adult with bills and such) but I tend to know a bit through osmosis and all that.

Overwatch

The newest Pokemon game.

Most 3D LoZ games.
You have possibly the most evil and hilarious avatar on the site. I just wanted you to know that.

Overwatch and sooooo many fighting games. I love watching them on Youtube, but I generally avoid multiplayer gaming.

Also D & D. I have a player's handbook and two monster manuals that I used to read constantly when I was younger, but I never found a group to play with.

I never played Soul Reaver, but I watched my brother play it probably 3 or 4 times through. Similar with the first two Myst games. He really enjoys puzzle games, and while I don't so much myself the worlds and stories really interested me, so I was happy to experience it with him.

The Binding of Isaac, and pretty much any other game Northernlion plays that isn't Dark Souls. As yet I haven't seen the need to buy the game myself because I'm already fairly bored of it without ever having played it and I prefer Ryan's babbling to my own usually.

The game... of love.

Everyone plays the game of love. There's only winners and losers, no holdouts. So you, yes you, Potjeslatinist, are a loser in the game of love.

Well, according to Amy Winehouse it's a losing game, so that would make us winners?

Yes, it would, now scoot over and let me join you in the losers-of-love circle.

Anyway.

I don't know about "a ton", especially not anymore but I used to be pretty deep into F.E.A.R.'s lore. I don't really remember much anymore but I used to be all "Okay, here's how the games go, here's what happens before and in between the games, here are the characters involved," so on, so on, it was good times.
Why did F.E.A.R. 3 have to be so bad? *weeps*

Persona 4 is the one I've probably spoiled the most for myself. If I ever saw a copy I'd probably still snatch it up despite knowing just about everything about it already. Thusly I'm trying to avoid any kind of spoilers for P5 until I can get it in April.

Among various other knowledge I've inadvertently picked up about the series, apparently the 'true' Dark Souls doesn't really begin until you kill the first boss and get out of the Undead Asylum. So I guess that counts. I keep trying due to all the great things I always hear about the game lying past that, but it's on the back burner.

Darkest Dungeon. I know all about the lore, the characters, the various enemies, all that jazz...

Have played all of five minutes of it, since the game is so RNG-laden you can't even walk down a hallway without RNG coming out of the woodwork to ruin your day.

Also, Halo post Reach - I haven't touched any of the series, but I follow a bunch of Youtubers and friends who all talk about it, theorize about it, do extended LPs of it... I'm never touching the series (honestly that's mostly because I don't have an Xbone) but I know everything that's gone down in it, so, at least that saves me money actually buying it?

Mass Effect... wait I have played that? Well if you include doing the opening chapter and then wandering around for about 5 hours to random planets and driving the Mako around dull terrain looking for ore until I get bored... then sure I've played it. What I should say is Mass Effect 2/3... and it's YOUR FAULT ESCAPIST!

I really didn't want to spoil the games for me or anything, I didn't want to know every possible nuanced aspect of each character, their loyalty missions, the suicide mission, the identity of the shadow broker, what the three colored endings meant from 50 different angles, why Ashley, no Tali, no Jack, no Krios, no GARRUS is the best romance... I don't ever need to play Mass Effect 2 and 3, or even finish 1, because thanks to this site, it's like I've played it 50 times already and am sick of it.

Good job Escapist, good job :p

I would say the same for Dark Souls, but there's not much to ruin there of course, and most of the chatter is about it's gameplay or how it handles world building.

Thankfully the only thing I've heard about Dragon Age Inquisition so far is to get out of the Hinterlands (I really should go back eventually...)

Five Nights at Freddy's.

I've never played the games since I really don't care for jump scares in my horror games, and the gameplay doesn't seem fun to me.

That said, I've watched a lot of Game Theory videos about the series because I think it's kind neat how the story is done, even if a bit over complicated and, at times, a mess. The theories behind the games are really interesting to me, at the very least.

Same here!

As for my other two candidates: EVE Online & Dwarf Fortress. Both are a tad too hardcore for my liking, but I always love to read up on EVE's latest several hundred player brawl or whatever wacky thing the DF community has recently come up with.

Street Fighter V. I own the game and have a fancy fight stick, but if haven't put more than a couple of hours into it because I just don't have any real interest in multiplayer competition. Despite this, I watch pro tournaments, and read guides and tutorials, and keep up to date with the meta of the game. I just never actually sit down and play it

Probably Final Fantasy. Not for lack of trying, mostly it's due to "lack of adequate console version". I'm well aware of how stupid the plots in the new games are however.

Definitely the Kingdom Hearts series. One of my closest friends is quite the fan, and I've spent many hours as a guest at his place watching him achieve 100% on both KH 1 & 2.

I was able to complete KH 2 once a few years ago, but it was only a casual playthrough. I wasn't able to grasp a whole lot of what was going on story-wise since I had only dabbled with the first installment awhile before that, but I've always been a Square fan, so I had fun.

My friend spent the better half of his time educating me in the complex string of events that make up the plot of the game, and back then I had a slight grasp of what was going on. I know a lot of the boss patterns, farming spots, all the hidden stuff now that I normally wouldn't know without watching someone else play.

It's been a few years since that, so I'm definitely lost again.
