I loved that fact that MGS 2 was a contemporary take on the first one and I loved the story as well.
For the record every Final Fantasy was great and Runescape was a hilariously witty MMO with great gameplay designs. It just needed to be presented better.

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel.

Don't you DARE tell 'No Mutants Allowed'! All Fallout zealots were mad at that game because they were looking forward to a 'proper' sequel to Fallout 2.

I quite enjoyed it. I was a simple run-around and kill stuff game like Champions of Norath or Baldur's Gateark Alliance. I didn't play the original Fallouts before then so I was ignorant of the history.

For me that would be Rainbow Six Vegas and Vegas 2.

Those games have Metacritic ratings of 89 and 82. No, I don't think everyone else seems to hate them. You chose some weird examples to start off the thread with.

Final Fantasy, all of them. Everyone seems to have a beef with at least one game from the series, like FFVIII, FFx and FFXII

Oh yes, people sure do hate Final Fantasy. It's not like FFVII is one of the most highly acclaimed games ever made or anything.

Snake Rattle and Roll on the NES/Mega Drive. Nobody else seems to like this but i have many a fond memory of playing it on my NES (i got it as a official bundle) waaaaaaaaaaay back for xmas

That was a really cool game, though I don't know what people think about it.

There are too many games being brought up in this thread that simply aren't hated by everyone, many of them are highly regarded or just really popular. I mean at least two people have mentioned Halo 3.

11th Hour and 7th Guest. Everyone hates these games, and for obvious reason, but to me they are classic horror themed puzzle game. The acting is lousy, but the atmoshpere.

BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE IT, but not me, people think i'm weird for that, its just a game thats full of repetitive grind until lich king comes out, then theres another character who has a new type of grind, more levels so you can grind even more and think that youv'e achieved something, and new and exciting places to grind in

I don't understand what you're trying to say. First you blame me for hating Wow... which I do not, my post said I liked it. And then you go on to tell me that it's all a stupid grind anyway. What exactly do you mean?

I liked Assassin's Creed a lot. It was fun for me and the FUN part compensated for any of it's flaws. Maybe because I always liked the idea of randomly assassinating people on the streets. In a game that is!

I haven't met anyone else that liked Freshly Picked, Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. Maybe it's because everyone seem to hate Tingle in general.

People hate the FF series because it makes them think they have an opinion and aren't just following the masses. Quest 64. Ahhh, the memories.....having to restart every day because I didn't have the memory card....good times, good times.

I love the ones I've played (VII, X and XII) and to say they're supposed to be one of the most popular series of games, nobody likes them!

Most people don't like Rayman, the origional which I played in 1997, but I love it. Thank God PS2's play PS1 games. *Hugs my PS2*

I've played all the Sonic games since the Dreamcast (minus SA2 and '06 (especially '06; saw someone else play through it)) and there really isn't that much to detract from them being OK games.
