Games you love but never finished

I took a gander at my game collection and saw my copy of Okami. Those of you who have played it should know what I mean when I say that I stopped playing it after what I thought was the logical conclusion of the story. Don't get me wrong; I love the game. I loved every minute that I played it, and a part of me was glad that it wasn't over yet. I put it away because I figured that I could save it for later, as though I had a guaranteed "sequel" waiting for me.

And yet, I've never gone back. I've tried a couple of times, and I still appreciate everything about it, but I can't muster up the attention span to continue to the true end of the game.

I think everybody has at least one or a few games that they love but never actually finished. Fatal Frame series is a big one on my list, same with the Katamari games.

What are some of your favourite games on the incomplete pile?

I have yet to finish the main quests of Morrowind and Oblivion, even though I've had both for several years now. I've tried to finish them several times, but each time I try to finish them I get about 3/4 through them before I get bored and go exploring. It happens every single time.

Banjo-Kazooie's final boss was too difficult for me at that age, I think. I never saw the end. It makes me want to download it off XBL.

FF9, first time my PS1 broke, 2nd time my PS2 broke, 3rd time I left my PS2 at uni after I left and the cleaners took it. I'm tempted to get a PS3 just to finally finish that damn game

I never finished Link to the Past. I got to the Dark World, but kind of stopped playing after the second dungeon there.

Dynamite Headdy. Brilliant game, but fucking hard.
Fucking impossible, more like. After many (*many*) hours of playing I still can't beat the boss thats a big head and flips the level. My only consolation is that its pretty close to the end, so I've kind of almost finished it.

Final Fantasy 8, 9, and 10.

Wild ARMs 1, 2, 3.

You see...once I get the airship, and sidequests open up. I get kinda...distracted.

Condemned 2. Quit just before the half-way mark. Before it got "Snooker-loopy".

Gothic 3. I love the setting and played every single game in the series but I never set aside the time to finish it. Game is full of quest-breaking bugs yeah, but even without that the world is so big and there's no strong pull from the main plot. You just go in a random direction and find so many quests and/or something nice to explore, that game is like a ADHD simulator. And then a new game comes along and I set Gothic aside for later and it just goes on and on, the circle never ends!

Lost Fecking Odyssey.

The bit with the 5 arthosauras', or whatever they're called, attacking the city is so hard! I can't be bothered to grind.

Too many to list probably, i'll try and name a few:

obilivion
morrowind
Fallout 2
Fallout 3
Baldurs gate 2
neverwinter nights + all expansions
divine divinity

Thats probably enough to be getting on with :) I have a habbit of abandoning games after 70 hours, sometimes I push past that hurdle but often I fall.

Oblivion. Now i have tried it alot of times (like 5 or so), but the combat is so hard. I think the most far I've got without cheats is to the gates opening up near every city. Then i was a vampire and died as soon as i exited the oblivion lands or whatever they are called. And the game doesn't work for my computer anymore (I don't know why).
