When I was as young as four I used to "play" second controller while my dad played Super Mario Bros. 3. That ended up being the first game I played, and I fell in love with it.

Once we had the SNES, I played Super Mario World, Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past, and Super Mario All-stars (mostly the lost levels) obsessively.

My dad and I also used to play a really old NHL game on Sega that I can't remember at the moment. I finally played him again in a "rematch" a few years ago on NHL Hitz for the gamecube and beat his ass. It was the first time I won without him letting me win, lol.

I loved this game, especially the part where you escape from the cave of wonders on the magic carpet. It's the last game based on a movie that I remember enjoying.

All of the games I played as a kid I've recently been trying to complete via VC. But since Nintendo dropped Rare, I don't think I'll ever get to play Banjo Kazooie, unless I try to find another 64. >_>

Pokémon, blue (I think) - I've wanted to give some of the new games a go just to see if they'll make me feel like a kid :)

Diablo, the letting off some lightning bolts and hitting my brother (wasn't on purpose, I swear!).

Warcraft II.

World Cup '98 and whichever Fifa had Italy and France as the default teams in indoor football quick games.

on ps1 i liked dino crisis, ff8 and 9 (only started playing 7 last week!) and driver... shame the recent driver games are so bad.

I started out with Katakis and Great Giana Sisters (we had Pong and an Atari 2600 but I don't remember playing them much), later got a Game Boy with R-Type and Nemesis (that's Gradius in the US) as the first games. My favourite on that system later on was Donkey Kong (1994 SGB version) that got a sequel in Mario vs Donkey Kong. On the PC I spent a LOT of time on Total Annihilation and various Half-Life mods (though I never even got to the rocket silo in singleplayer). Well, I was a bit older by then so kid may not be appropriate anymore.

back when we had atari consoles, i spent an ungodly ammount of time playing combat and mrs. pacman.

with the NES, i think that the most fun i had was playing excite bike, master blaster, Track & Field games, and maybe the double dragon games.

SNES, its tough between mario world and final fight for single player. street fighter II with my friends.

Genesis, oh man, altered beast, golden axe, pit fighter, streets of rage.

Good times! :D

i loved a game called Fire and Ice, had it on a Commodor 64, you played this blue thing and had to cross a variety of levels collecting key shards to progress to the next level and could freeze enemies and stuff. there were some trippy levels. there was this little penguin type thing that made a sort of cheap/barking noise. it was awesome.

Actually, I was looking through some videos on youtube this other day whilst coming across a video showing the top 100 snes games.

After looking at that I glanced over the comments which where I found one of the commenters stating something like: "snes? This looks like gba!".

And for the first time in my life, I experienced the strange sensation of feeling old.
