the original half life. I got all the way to the final boss, then got interested in something else and never went back...

Also SLAI, it's so damn long.

Assassin's creed. My gaming PC never could run it right there was about 1.5 delay on every action. running jumping fighting hiding, everything. the audio didn't sync up right with the slow video so the audio would finish half a minute before the dialog did and i'd sit watching lips move to stoney silence. i don't have a PS3 so i couldn't play it any other way. eventually the problems just added up so much that during the last batch of assassinations things got too hard for a delay and i couldn't go any further. It was fun and i really wanted to play till the end i just couldn't.

The Legend of Zelda; Ocarina of Time. I never owned a N64 and i never had a save game slot over at a friends house for very long. I got the Gamecube version that came with master quest when you pre-ordered windwaker but I got to the shadow temple took it over to a friends house one day left it there and it got stolen at some point. I found out who and he was promptly booted from the group for stealing a bunch of other shit too, but i never did get to finish this game.

I list these because i grew up in the age of NES and genesis and the oldest ones i finished out my large library were Super Mario bros. 3, Home alone, and the legend of Zelda(once). Thats just too many i didn't finish.

I have never finished:

Bioshock 2
Red Faction Guerilla
Battlefield Bad Company

For some strange reason... I can't explain why Bioshock 2 and BFBC remain unfinished, I liked them both. But Red Faction Guerilla just got boring, as open world games are wont to do.
Yeah, Red Faction gets kind of tedious towards the end. I beat it, and the ending wasn't really worth it. Still, the destruction in that game was awesome. And just screwing around with all the cheats on was a blast. If you haven't tried that, make sure you do (super hammer, super running speed, and super health are the best ones).

The big ones are
Oblivion: save game glich deleted my game after I had gotten all the stuff to cure my vampirism and I never picked it up since.
Bioshock2: neither the story or the gameplay were enought to keep me interested.
Two Worlds: played for 30min and said what a POS.
Assassins creed1 & 2: i liked the stories for both but I have trouble with the pacing with open world games, I played the majority of both but discovered that I just wasn't enjoying to expirence anymore and quit.

The last one is the only one I don't regret. The fucking Ashlanders pissed me off. I killed all of them and never picked it back up.
o_O how did the ashlanders piss you off? their quest were some of the best. aside from the clear the daedric shine quest. also the main ashlander camp was in the middle of fucking nowhere and a pain in the ass to get to...

Super Mario Brothers 3.

Technically Phantasy Star is a bit older, but I only started that recently whereas I just haven't gone back to SMB 3 in nearly 2 decades.

Fallout: New Vegas I liked the game alot, it was great, but the late game was meh. I understand that everyone wants to grow and thrive in their environment, but having 45,000 caps took away the feeling of being a scrounger or that of a harsh enviornment. Seems there's weapons, food, medicine, and amazing technology in abundance in the wasteland.

Grand Theft Auto 4. After a certain point the story just didn't seem to be going anywhere, and all the missions were of the "drive here, kill everyone, drive back" variety. I've tried multiple times and I just can't power through it.

Also, ONE on the ps1. Just too damn hard.
You drove places???? I just used a taxi... which made it a lot quicker AND infinitely more boring. I find that I am having the same trouble with The Lost and the Damned expansion for GTA IV right now though.

Pool of Radiance on the C64 is probably the oldest, I was pretty bloody minded about beating the crushingly hard games like Commandos, Impossible Mission, Wonder Boy and Ghosts and Goblins (biggest bastard game I have ever played) but I had one of the PoR disks corrupt on me.

Recently there is a lot, Bioshock, Dead Space, Assassin's Creed, Crysis (although I still enjoy playing through until the aliens show up), and Red Faction: Guerilla to name a few. I just don't have time anymore for games that aren't fun.

This. Oh my God, this.

Final Fantasy X-2, because it was horrible. I remember trying to push through it, until I just flicked off the ps2 and never put that disk in again.

Also, Assassin's Creed 1. I broke up with the boyfriend who kept that game. He kept the PS3 and I the Xbox 360. It was on the PS3 obviously, but I had almost beaten it, anyway. I just figured I saw enough of it. Suppose if I cared enough, I could look up a let's play to see the end.

I have a stack of about 11 xbox360 games unfinished.

it includes:

Fallout new vegas (expansions downloaded, not done, but main quest finished).

Final Fantasy XIII (got it day it came out, played 2 hours, saving it for that one week where i'm stuck on a desert island)

Red Dead redemption (game decided it didn't like my progress and deleted me back a few missions, havn't picked it up since)

Lost Planet (Am i the only one in the world who found that game incredibly difficult?)

Star Trek Legacy (one mission with timed asteroids always beat me, i even re-started and played through picking different ships, trained myself up a bit, let others try to do it, but nothing)

Oblivion (done the main questline, but without doing the mages guild, it feels incomplete, but i always get kicked from there by glitches).

And quite a few more.

I have games i've never even played on steam (yes i know very bad, but i never find the time).

I have about 100 unfinished PS2 Games, i think the very first game i failed to finish was probly a PS2 title, thats when games wern't a once a year luxury for the first time in my life i think.
Lost Planet is so HARD!

Oblivion; gave up after killing my first orc. (thought "ANOTHER bloody tolkien-esque fantasy? I've been bored of them since 1997!")

Earthworm Jim; Can't get past the level where you protect pete. Couldn't do it ten years ago still can't do it in HD.

Stormrise; Couldn't get past third mission

Okami; keep meaning to replay it but my ps2 is gathering dust

Star Ocean 4; Nearly at last boss stopped playing because another game came out, haven't been back on it

Xenosaga 2; 1 and 3 NEVER coming to UK so what's the p;oint?

Resonance of Fate; Got into it for a few days and stopped for no real reason, keep meaning to pick it up again

Mass Effect; Got an Xbox off my sister, bought Mass Effect, played till you could kill Wrex, then bought Mass Effect 2 on PS3

that's all i can think of offhand.

Sure there's a tonne more though.

EDIT; Siren Blood Curse; got halfway through, watched everything go wrong for everybody, got depressed and keep meaning to play it again but it scares me.

Ninja Gaiden; Loved it but it took me six hours to get to the third level on the easiest setting i sucked that hard. (and yet, undefeated on DOA2 once i got the fighting system down pat)

mostly a bunch of NES games and a handful of SNES games, most of which I later beat using emulators-- but not emulation tricks, the most I'd do is use save states up to three or four times a level

Thanks to this I've just started Morrowind again. Though I always thought the game was brilliant, just gave up on guilds when I accidentally became a vampire.
