Dog's life for playstation 2.

I've never met another person that is even aware of its existence, which is a shame. Cause it is the best game ever made!

DUDE! That game ate hours of my life! Thank you! I've never met anyone who even knew what it was, but man, that was a game.

I realise my circle of influence is rather small, but I've yet to meet someone who has heard of the PS1 game Rollout, besides my sister, with whom I always played it. :)

Cutthroats: Terror on the High Seas.

A bargin bin game my brother bought in the late 90s that sat around my house until I had to do without internet for a year.

Terrible ship combat and bad controls, but the invasion of towns to grab loot would switch the game to a very crude RTS which was enjoyable to pass time with when bored.

The controls for an RTS were bare minimum and combat broken with your pirate soliders not doing much damage and dying quickly while cannons were OP and if used a couple to kite the Ai around you could kill everyone in a town and loot it all save for the most defended ones which required suicide cannons being sent in to take down towers.

Combat just devolves into you running around the map amassing a force for land invasion with cannons for combat and men to run around packing the loot away.

Oddly enough an MMO, Mabinogi.

Including the people who introduced me to it I have met less than 5 other players outside of the game.

Custom Robo for the Gamecube. Friggin' loved that game, and everyone looked at me like I was crazy whenever I mentioned it.
Oh hell yes. This game was one of the top 5 games of my childhood. Every time someone came over and we played games I would give this one a spin. Everyone loved it and I am surprised it never took off.
Oh man, I totally agree, on both points.

In one month I managed to log 65 hours on mabinogi, in fact I checked with Raptr, to date it's the PC game I've spent the most time on.

Custom Robo I only played once at a friend's house, but I played a full 3 hours and loved every second of it.

Shogo: Mobile Armored Division, an anime-inspired shooter that Monolith did back in 98. It was a mess, but a glorious one. I know people who have played it exist, but the only ones I've met are those that I introduced it to.
Theres... more than one of us on this site? I literally just posted about this in that thread about lesser known games from major developers. Shogo ruled, and I'm still bitter we never got that sequel.

Omega Boost on the PSX, one of the best games I've ever played; I played the japanese version ,it had an awesome intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVRv3fMHUWk
That was also one of the prettiest console games of its generation, it did some really cool things with particle effects and lighting, not to mention enormous bosses that could be blown up piece by piece. Interesting about the music, too -- the description mentions the song being different in the UK, and with the name they gave not ringing a bell, I have a feeling the US version had a third different song.

Some gameplay footage, including Level 3 which is effing beautiful:
The gameplay itself was interesting too, kind of a cross between Starfox and Zone of the Enders before Zone of the Enders was a thing.

Operation Darkness. It got scathing reviews but I don't think its half bad. The camera can be annoying sure, but once you get past that its a game almost equal to Fire Emblem (It's a Strategy RPG if you couldn't guess)
I was actually planning on playing that tonight. What's strange is a friend of mine has a copy too. The only reason I even know about it is because it was lying in the bargain somewhere and at a reasonable price so I took a chance on it. Cool game though. :3

Without a doubt, Star Wars: X Wing Alliance. I actually have never met anyone else who has ever heard of it. Same goes for Star Wars Demolition. Shame because those happen to be some of my best childhood memories.

I have two of those games. Both I found awesome, btw:

-Vandal Hearts 1 for PS1. I loved this rpg. First strategy rpg I've ever played.
-RUSH 2 for N64. Was great fun to play with friends. A very over the top and arcade-y need for speed, you could say.

Haven't heard anyone mention these both in real life or on the net so far.
Vandal Hearts was an amazing game, I've completed it around 15 times over the past 16 years. Still in love with the story and the characters.

What? There was a cartoon and everything.

I live in Ireland, it's really only the big game releases that get any notice round here. As for the cartoon, it aired, but with people I knew, it was practically non-existent.

Bust-a-Groove/Move for the PS1.

snipped the rest
i have that, it's a great game, my favourite character(s) are Capoeira, but favourite song is Kitty-N's.

For me, the game I play but have almost never heard a peep out of from anyone else is Odin Sphere (PS2), it was released by Square Enix in the PAL regions and Atlus everywhere else. It's a fantastic game with a good, in deep story, it is a JRPG which i know a lot of people don't like.

This is the Square Enix trailer for the PAL regions

(this is the first time i've been able to embed a video successfully Whoo!)
