Games you never thought you'd love

Mass Effect. Somehow I never even heard of the game until I saw some fanboys here praising it to high heavens. Now I'm a fanboy too. *hangs head in shame*

This. Saw my friend playing and said, "That looks shit. I mean really bad." Then he lent it to me and I loved it. But then Mass Effect 2 wentand dissappointed me.

Sadly Gears of War;

When I first saw it I laughed at the idea of Chainsaw's on Guns and the dudes in Power armor; But I played a bit with a friend one day and I was hooked Ever since.

That and Bioshock comes to mind.

Same. Playing shooter games on consoles strike me as retarded, but my best mate sat me down with GoW and we had a hell of a good time. I still think shooters and any precision based gaming with gamepads is as ludicrous as all hell, but at least I had fun.

Metro 2033.

Hated it the first time I played it, tried it again after the Ranger pack came out (fixed the shooting basically) and fucking loved it.

Halo *ducks behind flame sheild* I never thought I liked and thought it was just another shooter. However, I can't say I'm a true fan for I don't even own an xbox, but everytime I go home (away for college) I've been trying to log a few hours, however the little bro (who own the xbox) keeps deleting my files, so sadly, all I've been able to get to is that library thingy in the first one... epic fail I know.

Sports and Racing games in general. DiRT got me into rally, and NBA into basketball.

FIFA was my first sports game, mainly because I am a footie fan, even if my team is having a so-so season at the moment (Exeter City).
