Fallout 3: 2 copies were presents and I got the GOTY edition later.

Starcraft: I always seem to misplace my copy every time I want to play, and over the years I've bought a few, so now I think I have about 5-6, not counting the copies made.²

Own about three copies of Myth: The Fallen Lords because I lost the first one, then the second one, and when I bought the third one I actually found both of them the same week.

Spyro the Dragon - 2 times - My first copy got eaten by my lil' brother (well, not entirely, but the teethmarks rendered it unplayable).

Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped - 2 times - Same as above.

Final Fantasy X - 3 times - My first one got worn out by playing it too much, the second copy was fucked up to begin with (2nd hand), so I had to settle for a third one.

Dark Chronicle - 2 times - My first copy was a scratched up 2nd hand version, so I had to buy another one.

Maximo vs. Army Of Zin - 2 times - same as above.

Rez - 2 times - I spend quite some time looking for a copy, so I was happy when I finally found one. But soon after I found another copy, really cheap, and I just had to buy that one as well.

Lost Odyssey - 2 times - Because I'm afraid one of my discs will break down and I found a second copy really cheap.

The original Splinter Cell, but I have absolutely no idea why. Maybe they're breeding, or something.

Oh yeah, and two of Pokemon yellow. One on my gameboy colour, and one on my CAS calculator - which makes maths so much more bearable.

I have 2 copies of:
*Diablo II + expansion. Because I wanted to be able to play LAN with my younger brother.
*Starcraft. Same reason
*Portal. Xbox and PC version. Because I can.
*Battlefield Bad Company 2. I bought the steam version first. But I'm not a pc-online gamer, and the multiplayer server select thing just overwhelmed me. Clans? Hosts? Am I even allowed to join this game as a noob?! So I bought the infinite user friendly Xbox version. It has a quick join button!!

*Oblivion. PC for mods, but my old pc couldn't handle it too well, so I got the Xbox version as well.
*Metroid Prime 1,2 and 3. Got all the original games for the Gamecube and wii. Then I later got the Trilogy as a present. Loved it better because of the awesome controls.
...

Yes, I liked Metroid Prime's motion controls better than the Gamecube controller.
Mind you, this is the one and ONLY game that did motion controls right!

Oblivion (PC & 360) - PC couldn't run it when it first came out so I settled for the 360 version

Morrowind GOTY (PC & Xbox) - friend gave me his xbox copy and well... PC is vastly superior

Alien Vs Predator (PC) - Actual retail disc & Steam version

Alien Vs Predator 2010 PC & 360 - Got it on 360 (still not sure why) and well there was a steam sale...

Orange Box - See the same description for AVP, then picked up the games on steam (seperate, not as bundle.)

Urban Strike (Genesis) - I'm still not sure how I ended up with 2 copies of the game. I always assumed my closet replicated the cartridge.

Saint's Row 2 (PC & 360) - Steam sale

Chronicles of Riddick (PC & Xbox) - Steam sale

Deus Ex: Invisible War (PC & Xbox) - Eidos bundle sale on Steam

Full Spectrum Warrior & Ten Hammers (PC & Xbox) - THQ bundle sale on Steam

GTA III, Vice City & San Andreas (PC, PS2 & Xbox) - Steam sale

Left 4 Dead (PC & Xbox 360) - Steam sale + gifted a Steam copy to a friend

Mass Effect (PC & Xbox 360) - Steam sale

Bioshock - PC & Xbox 360) - Steam sale

Oddworld's (All of them & PC) - Steam sale + had them all for the original systems they came out for

Max Payne 1 & 2 (PC & Xbox) - Steam sale... again

Psychonauts (PC & Xbox) - Pure awesomeness

Sin (PC) - Retail & Steam version

Star Wars: Dark Forces & Jedi Knight series (PC) - Retail & Steam versions

Star Wars: KoToR (PC & Xbox) - Amazing game + Steam sale

Well thank you Linwolf, you made me realize just how unhealthy my steam habits are, but the deals are just too great to pass up and I love giving developers I like a bit of extra support.

Various 'Legend of Zelda' games. Mostly because of losing them though, which doesn't really count, or because of getting a copy in a bundle with something else.

I generally don't have much in the way of duplication.

I did once own two copies of Transport Tycoon, but they were different versions, and I got rid of the original after a while.

Resident Evil 2 and Silent Hill 2 & 3.

The Resident Evil was meant to be a gift for a friend but I lost touch before I could give it.

Finding Silent Hill games is incredibly hard if you don't know the places and they were absolutely nowhere when I was looking for them. I managed to buy the third and second then my parents brought me the Ultimate Collection which had both of those and The Room too. Not really complaining though.

I don't know if you can count these, but I have a copy of Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets on both the PS2 and the Gameboy Colour. However, both were different games with the same story, one was an RPG and the other was more action oriented.

However, It's also the case with the 3rd games in the series, except Gameboy Advance + PS2. I honestly don't remember how I got 2 of the same games with both of those. I have a feeling I bought the Chamber of Secrets when I was like, 5, then got A PS2 a year or so later, which I got Harry Potter free with as well. I have no clue about the other.

I also have 2 versions of Portal and Team Fortress 2, 2 on Mac/PC (Which I now more commonly play) and the others on Xbox.

Red alert 2, because my brother broke one of the disks and my mom made him buy a new one for me.
Also some more C&C games(we both bought the 10year c&c box with all games up to generals zero hour)
So I also have tiberium sun and generals double.

I also have two copies of supreme commander(birthday gift) but I might give one away.

We also have two copies of the best of star wars game set which contains
Empire at war
Battlefront
KOTOR and
Republic Commando

That's all I can think off, really.

I have a Fallout 3 for the xbox 360, and a Fallout 3 for the PS3.

Only because the PS3 version used to belong to someone else before they gave it to me...

2 x Sonic Gems Collection: I bought it for the Gamecube originally because I assumed that like almost every other Gamecube game it would have a 60Hz mode. It didn't. I then bought it for the PS2 fairly recently because it's easier to play with the Dual Shock controller, because I had a lot more space on my PS2 memory cards and because I could rip both Sonic CD's soundtracks from the PS2 version to my computer.

2 x Orange Box: Bought it for PC originally then bought it for the PS3 because I find it easier to play that way.

2 x Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Collection: One for the PS2 (which ended up being superseded by Ultimate Collection on the PS3) and one of the PSP, just because I like some of those games so much that I'd want to play them on a portable.

2 x Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX: Spares in case any of them ever break.

2 x Final Fantasy IV: One came as part of Final Fantasy Anthology European Edition and one came as part of Final Fantasy Chronicles.

3 x Resident Evil 4: Originally got it for the Gamecube then was appalled by the graphical quality when I upgraded to an HDTV. Got the Wii version after that because I thought it would be a lot better graphically (it wasn't) and finally on the PS2 because I heard that the PS2 having a higher colour depth (24 bit as opposed to 16 bit for GC/Wii) made the game look a bit better. PS2 is probably the best looking one to play on an HDTV, IMO.

3 x Theme Park: PC, PSX and DS, because I love it that much.

2 x Theme Park World (Sim Theme Park): Originally got it for the PC but the PC I had at the time couldn't run it very well so I bought the PSX version.

2 x Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories: Originally bought them on the PS2 when I didn't think I was going to get a PSP, then got them on the PSP when I did.

2 x Grandia II: Originally for PS2, saw the PC version extremely cheap and bought it more out of curiosity than a plan to play through the game on the PC.

2 x Curse Of Monkey Island: Bought it originally back in the 90s and then recently when I saw that they were re-releasing a bunch of LucasArts point-and-click games as budget titles I bought it again.

2 x Resident Evil 2: PSX original and Gamecube port, I mainly play the Gamecube version now (slightly better graphics) and have the PSX as a spare.

2 x Wind Waker: Got the first version for Christmas one year, then a couple of years later I found a brand new first edition (containing the bonus disc with OoT/Mater Quest on it) and couldn't pass it up.

2 x Super Mario All-Stars: SNES original plus Wii version, because I love the game and my SNES is basically dead.

2 x Advance Wars Dark Conflict/Days Of Ruin: So that my partner and I could play it together and also because I was curious to see how different the translation was between the European and American versions.

2 x Professor Layton and Pandora's/The Diabolical Box: When Curious Village was released in Australia, Nintendo Australia used the American ROM and artwork as the basis of the Australian version, but from the second game onwards they switched to the European version, including Luke's utterly horrible European voice using a different actor. Had I known this at the time I would have just imported the American version straight away.

I tried not to include ports that differed too much from the original game (like the original Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS or Persona 3 and P3P), games that have the same name but are completely different on each console (like Civilization Revolution on the PS3 and the DS) or games that both me and my partner had bought separately before we met.

...Shit, didn't realise I had so many.

FF7-10 I've bought multiple times because I didn't take that great care of my disks when I first got them (might have had something to do with only playing Nintendo and N64 games before then. Those things, being made of Nintendium are indestructable).

Though I don't really buy multiple copies now (since I don't bother getting rid of my games and take decent care of them now).
