Xenoblade chronicles, i would probably enjoy the gameplay more if i hadn't beaten Xenoblade Chronicles X before i started playing

Chalk another one for Telltale (at least, their post Walking Dead Phase. Boy I wish they'd make somehting like Monkey Island or Sam and Max again). I'm probably one of the few people that won't say "point and click adventure games" in general, because boy have there been weak Point n click games I've finished just cause I love solving puzzles.

+1 for Sunless Sea

My choice not listed here would be Metro 2033. Although I could probably just pick up the Novels in that case.

There are other games that I play with story in mind or primarily for the story, but even in those I expect to have at least a little bit of fun with the gameplay.

Telltale games rely 100% on their narrative content. And thus far they haven't disappointed.
I don't actually agree. Okay, I've only played 2 Telltale games, and yeah, The Walking Dead has virtually nothing to recommend it beyond its stellar storytelling and character building, but I quite like the gameplay in The Wolf Among Us. There's a dynamic feel in most of the fight sequences, and it just really sells Bigby as a mean, rough, badass brawler. In TWD, the QTEs are pass/fail because if you bungle it you get bit and die, but in TWAU you're allowed to screw up and keep fighting. It puts me on edge in a good way, and I love being able to miss a cue, get plowed through a wall, then spit out a tooth and keep swinging. It's a far more personal feel than other combat systems, which may allow for more sweet moves but eventually all blend together into massive one-sided beatdowns.

I mean, I know some people have no tolerance for QTEs, but I don't mind them and TWAU is honestly the best possible use of them.

Honestly, I felt that TWAU blew its QTE load on that first brawl with the Woodsman.

They put a lot of effort into that fight, then went back to their standard formula for the rest of the game.

I didn't notice what happens when you miss a QTE since I don't think I ever missed any.
