I can almost play Knights of the Old Republic in my head, and I remember that game more than any other one because I've completed it--probably--over 15 times. Another one is Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, mostly because I spent my childhood playing the first three dungeons, so I have those locked in memory (finally completed the game last year--damn re-dead scared me when I was little).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: I watched my dad play that over and over again. He was the only one in my family that finished that, but I always watched it and I have the songs, and majority of the levels engraved in my mind. I've never gotten passed the first swimming level and I never will.

Also, Runescape, Astonia, and Mortal Kombat.

Been a great couple of years from the last 2-3 I would say

Mass Effect 1 & 2, Dragon Age Origins and 2 and Fable 3

I'm pretty sure you've proven your point, OP. So far this tread is full of games that are way older than three years. Either people refuse to read the OP or they, like you, also ave trouble recalling "Memorable Games".
That was not the point I was trying to make. Quite the opposite. I think it is only natural for a lot of people to mention older games, since it is difficult to recognise an "instant classic".

Will agree on Batman Arkham Asylum. I think nobody saw that coming and it IS a classic already.

Most games, I replay most of my games at least 3 times. Batman, Mass Effect (number 2 came out in the last 2-3 years, that lets it count, right?) are definately going to remembered Fo'sure.

Also, although they're way older than 2-3 years, ratchet and clank 2+3, and spyro 2+3. They will stay with me for many decades.

Well then, I got something totally different from this thread, which I enjoyed. Besides series, there haven't been many games that are "instant classics" for me these past 2-3 years, besides Red Dead and Deadly Premonition. Although I thoroughly believe gaming is better than it has been, fewer games bring that "wow" factor or "instant classic" feel to them. If they do, they either command a sequel or are one, which isn't bad. However, we're in an age where sequels are starting to reign.

Portal 2, F:NV.

2-3 years limits it a bit for me. Not necessarily because they're full of bad games, they're just not as memorable.

I'll put a little twist on the thread and actually refer to a game that I played 10 years ago, still remember and even played today. Brace yourselves.
Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone on Gameboy Colour. Fantabulous.
More relevantly I'll probably remember the Mass Effect Series and Fallout 3.

Half Life, Halo, Mass Effect, Oblivion, Skyrim, Assassin Creed and Left 4 Dead. Don't think I will ever forget them.
