I don't suffer from this syndrome (hereby known as Skittles Revertgosion Syndrome) as I was never pwnage at a game unless I was a natural (so it didn't matter about losing skills cause I always have them)
Well I suspect that I'm going to suck at Tekken 6 when it comes out. I'll be all like "Hey I remember this character was good before" and I won't know whether it's me or they nerfed the character and the uncertainty will HAUNT MY DREAMS!
I used to rip it up on that game, my record for start to knife kill and win was under 3minutes. Then TF2 came out, bugger. Played it again recently and oh dear, some weapons I could still handle (FAMAS yay!) and the pistols I still breezed through, but dear god the other ones were hard work.
I didn't suck at it but going from top of the board to somewhere in the middle felt terrible.
i used to dominate people at the 2d worms games. now i cant play them very well at all.
i think it was those ds worms games with the broken physics that killed me at them. since i played them i cant calculate everything almost effortlessly like i used to.
When Halo 3 came out, I owned, so much.
But I lost my live connection, and now, after not playing it for several months, I seem to be the same, but everyone else is ownage.
cod world at war. i used to be lvl 65, and prestiged, but i played it yesterday and found that more complex fps had ruined its simpleness... i was playing bioshock for so long, i was wondering where my plasmids where while being shot at on the Makin day map on world at war. yes, i know i fail
I don't have too much of a problem with this at the moment, but I find if I switch games I'll forget my button mappings and it takes me a bit to get back into the groove.
I've been switching between Saints Row 2 and Gears lately... in SR2 running is with one of the bumpers, in Gears it's on the A button. Needless to say there's been a few times where I've been playing Gears and re-loaded my weapon, wondering why I was moving so slowly .
I've just started Burnout 3 again, I don't know if it's just a harder game than Revenge due to a lack of Traffic Checking perhaps. But I am fecking shite at it. Used to fucking rape the shit out of it, too.
I used to be absolutley amazing at Call of Duty: Finest Hour. Now I suck at it. And I'm pretty sure when I was so amazing at it before, all my shots were from the hip.
You'll be glad to know that short-term memory has nothing to do with remembering things from 10 years ago, and that your troubled state of mind is probably due to the hormones raging through all sorts of wonderful places of your body.
I still rawk Contra, which consumed a large portion of my childhood. I can still beat the original without dying. Back in the day I could beat the original and the second quest where the enemies and bullets moved twice as fast, AND have a friend steal all of my extra men while intentionally trying to kill me.
