The Elder Scrolls and Fallout games (although I occasionally play 3), World of Warcraft, DC Universe Online, and pretty much any MMORPG or RPG.

It takes incredible patience to excel at those games.

Realistic games are not my thing. Fallout is just too depressing and I'm not thrilled with the usual brown environments of war games. FPS shooters are really detailed now, but it just doesn't change the fact that I find the perspective disorienting as hell.
The only FPS I'd make an exception for is some of the zombie maps from Call of Duty. Specifically Numa, Keno, Ascension, and especially Shangri La. I'm no good at them and usually get killed pretty quickly but I'm content to spectate while my partner Spirit works his way up too the 20th round or so.
And if it wasn't for the dialogue between the characters, I doubt I'd be so enamored with it either. I just have a distinct weakness for the plot device of people who hate one another being forced to work together. RichstofenXDempsey ;D

Pretty much all of Valve's multiplayer games, like Counter-Strike, Team Fortress 2, and Left 4 Dead. Online shooters just aren't my thing, but if I were to start playing one, it'd be one of those three.

There's also most point and click adventure games. I love games with good writing, and adventure games generally excel in that area, but whenever I try to play one I always end up having to consult a walkthrough one too many times for my taste and giving up. I'm sure games like Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, and Grim Fandango are all perfectly wonderful, but I'll still probably never play them because I just don't have the patience for it.
