I was so sure that I'd love Gears of War but then it turned out to be a pretty funny rail shoother with no substance.

Red Faction Guerilla was a disappointment for me.
I was expecting far more buildings, but the surface of Mars proved to be a barren and isolated place.
Pretend that you're in Asgard, the EDF stands for 'Evil Dark Forces' and that you're Thor. Only use your Hammer, Arc Projector (Lightning), and Detonation Charges (Thunder). It works, trust me.

I was all psyched for Fallout 3. Like, reserved the limited edition with the lunchbox and bobblehead psyched. Then I leveled up and saw they got rid of my beloved Elder Scrolls leveling system...for some generic, boring skill-points and "experience".

WHY DID NONE OF THE PREVIEWS I SAW MENTION THAT?!
This.

Also, I thought that I'd like Borderlands.

Dragon Age Origins:

Thought it'd be a mix kind of Dungeon Seige meets WoW meets Oblivion type game, was really naf, couldnt' get into it, wasn't very immersive at all and have no idea what i'm meant to be doing or whats going on half the time... most likely my fault than the game though

Cities XL:

I thought this would be a good alternative to Simcity 4(which doesn't run very stable on Win7 for me) and although the graphics are pretty decent andd the games concept is great, it topples over on gameplay and becomes repetitive and not very involving

Eyepet:

Saw this game advertised and thought it'd be awesome and the AI would be superb, it wasn't. The game is really not very good at all and gets boring quickly

And a few others

Definitely GTA4 I went out and got it because everyone said it was fun and only improved upon the old ones.
Then I realized it was half tutorials and irritating car physics.

An old installment in the Lord of the Rings series. I liked the ones for Gamecube despite not even being a fan of the franchise, and I figured this one would be similar as well, but boy was I wrong. That's the last time I will impulse buy a game I've read nothing about, and at full price no less. It now serves as a benchmark for 'unplayable' amongst people I know: "Is it good in a LOTR kind of way?". I will never live it down.

Probably Chrono Trigger... I had high hopes for it, and I even enjoyed for a while, but the combat got on my nerves (don't like those loading bars), I thought the settings were boring, the NPCs didn't have anything interesting to say... it's just that when I play the game, I feel absolutely no drive no continue. However what really put me off was when I realised I would have to play the game over and over to see every ending and every route through the game, and I just couldn't be bothered with that.

It's not that I hate the game, it's actually pretty damn cool in places, but I don't enjoy it that much.

I thought I would like Dragon Age a lot more than I do, don't get me wrong, I like the game(I bought it 2 weeks ago along with awakening, and am about 12 hours in) but I was expecting almost the ultimate rpg, and I am not quite sure what I got. I will make my mind up whe nI finish it I suppose.

I thought I would have a lot more fun in Borderlands than I do, the game is just so empty, where the hell is the substance. If you have to make your own fun the game is doing it wrong.

I may have to replay Red Faction pretending to be Thor though, because that sounds awesome, and I actually really liked that game.

Red Dead Redemption.
This has to be the most recent one for me.

You know what, there's been a lot of games this year that have disappointed.

-God of War 3: too short, too much money invested cinematic stuff with little gameplay, ending was garbage.

-Transformers:eek:verall very stale gameplay.

-Dante's Inferno: lots of padding to extent a game that's already very short, especially using cheap deaths.

On my shelf, the only games still remaining from this year that I didn't sell back or get rid of are Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, and Alan Wake, and still need to beat Alan Wake to know if it's a keeper.

=/

Fallout 3: I tried SO DAMN HARD to like that game.

White knight: Okay. First yes, the game IS a great game. However i just can't seem to get into it.I know its a great game, i just can;t seem to figure out why i should care about it.

Alien Syndrome: At first i thought it was awesome. Then i realized it was just grindy.

FFXI: The game itself has a powerful drawing effect. I WANT to play it but i know I'll hate it. If it wasn;t for the fact that most quests feel poorly implemented and that there is no interface for trades alongside having to grind kill bunnies and worms for ten levels i would likely have never left it.

DOW2: Fuck that game.

DOWO: WoW with crappy graphics with a instanced world and crappy trade skills! Lame!

Aliens vs Pedators, Dantes Inferno, Far Cry 2, and Borderlands.

Guess what ? Bought DI, biggest purchase regret since Far Cry 2. Borderlands just isnt what i expected, wasnt BAD, but just not what i expected. AVP just, isnt a game i could picture owning ( luckily i rented).

Dragon Age...makes me so freaking depressed but the controls on the 360 are horrible. I imagine it would be great on the computer but my wifes super computer which is the only one that can run it in the house decided to have bloom issues...stab someone and lose you retinas as their blood super novas. I has hoping for a Mass Effect style of voicing and oblivion combat and KOTOR story telling and RTS sized worlds and ability to take cover. I know i was hoping for alot but it was made up to be this epic thing and it's meh ok at best. I feel lied to.

Dragon Quest 8

As much as I like RPG's, it just couldn't hold my interest long enough for me to even get halfway through the game...

Aliens vs Predator, I played the demo and was stunned by how fun the multiplayer was but after I got the game, I was disappointed. Yes its fun to run around very fast and blast things apart with sparkly blue balls of energy but I took the game back the next day.
