Also, MW2, I liked CoD 4, thought I would like MW2. I was wrong, hated every second of it.
This is something I see to much. Yes the campaign was retarded and short, but I hold massive amounts of doubt about your statement.
Yep, this is the most over used and slightly unbelievable answer.

OT: It seems like every thread basically knocking a game can end with me saying Termintaor 3; The movie; The Game.

The back of the box looked like a sweet open world car jacking and smash them up game. It turned out to be a Mario game, if a Mario game was shitty and not fun

Limbo. Not technically a disk, but it still annoyed the hell out of me and caused me to rage which is very rare for me.
At first I did love the art style and the general feel, but by the end I was cursing the game to hell.
What was wrong with it? I have a friend who's considering getting it.
I just got irritated by some of the platforming. Thankfully it's generous with it's checkpoints.

Sorry to beat dead horse but, Modern Warfare 2.

I thought it was going to be the genre defining shooter. It had such promise. But promise turned to average feelings, those soon turned to apathy, apathy turned to despair, despair turned to rage-quitting.

I just can't play it anymore...
Have you tried Call of Duty 4?

That was "The Genre defining shooter". The Single Player Campaign was beyond totally awesome, and the multiplayer was much more balanced and most people (not me) say it was more fun.

Resistance 2. It was supposed to be like Halo and Call of Duty rolled into one... It was a six hour piece of shit.

I agree but minus the genre defining. I loved COD4, much more balance in the multiplayer.

I'm tempted to say Spore, the restraining bolts slapped on every facet of the game to force you into space to do nothing just so the Sims crowd will feel like they've accomplished something were beyond maddening.. but the editors were so much fun to play with.

Definitely Borderlands, I was stoked for months, I loved the art style, being a Blizzard fan boy I was sure I'd love what appeared to be (and was) a faithful fps rendition of the Diablo formula.. and I barely maintained enough interest in it to finish it.

He might like it then, The more frustratingly aggravating the platformer the more amused he gets. He loved IWBTG and laughed where I would've cried. It's weird. Would it be worth the cost?

Oh but IWBTG is pretty damn fun. But even though Limbo is irritating it's unique and interesting so I would recommend it. I'd just never play it again even if you paid me.

Knights in the Nightmare:Thought it'd be a FFT alike. It was a nightmare with more tutorials than game.

No More Heroes.
It looked like a trippy Yakuza game and while it was trippy, it also managed to serve up some of the worst minigames on the Wii and one of the most pointless sandboxes ever created.

I love those Bethesda RPGs but I can see how people wouldn't dig them; they do start slow and are always very buggy.

I still can't get past the first part with the spike walls and the apples and pain and the punting my neighbor's cat in anger. Alright I'll give him the heads up. ....Not even for 599.00 U.S. Dollars? Totally not using this to make up for lack of Message replies.

Borderlands-guns that shoot fire and acid and such, with a big open world and cel-shaded graphics. Sounds like my kind of game. It wasn't. It bored the crap out of me
TF2-supposedly the greatest multiplayer evar. I found it quite bland.
Dead Rising-Killing tons of zombies in a mall. Awesome. Weapons that break every two hits and an annoying save system that kept sending me back an hour when I died. Not awesome.
Little Big Planet-cool platforming and crazy contraptions. It just didn't hold my attention

Brütal Legend.

A game advertised as a hack'n'slash adventure dark comedy game. Wich in fact was a RTS in disguise. Game fricken rocked until it went all out RTS. Bleh! HAAATE.

I can't really say I was hyped up for Neverwinter Nights, I had no expectations going in so when it turned out to be the worst game I ever played, I wasn't disappointed so much as "OK, that's the last time I let that person recommend a game for me" (my ex-wife said "you'll probably like this", but she had no clear grasp on my gaming tastes.)

As far as legitimate "this game looks like it's gonna rock...oh, shit"? Hearts of Iron 3. Major letdown after HoI2, which was Paradox's most polished, well-put-together effort. I'm hoping like hell that Victoria 2's as good as the early buzz from Paradox fans would indicate.

I really thought Godfather 2 would be as good as the first, but I was saddly mistaken.
