Eh, I'm at least curious enough about Skyrim to buy it if it were on a supermassive Steam sale. There are already lots of mods available I'd like to try. The only mods I really care about to make the sandbox more to my liking are available. There are already several several jRPG style character mods, from the Elin of Tera Online, to Yamaha diva Hatsune Miku, to Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII, to Link from the Legend of Zelda, to who knows else. By the time you add in My Little Pony mods and Japanese voices, it would practically be a jRPG which is exactly my forte. It wouldn't be as valuable to me as playing Tales of Xillia, but it would be worth a price. After all, there's only so many jRPGs in existence I have available to even play.

Those mods alone and pretty landscapes to traverse in are pretty much all I need for it to be worth $5 or so. But it's not that price, it's $60. The cheapest I've seen it on Steam was for $50. So that's a no, for now.

Assassin's Creed Revelations
Batman Arkham City
Assassin's Creed Revelations and Arkham City are totally worth $50 IMO. The others I haven't played yet. (Amalur's on preorder) Bioshock: Infinite is the only one that springs to mind at the moment.
Fifty dollars, eh? Try $100.

Australia prices.

Besides, AC:R is the worst AC game thus far and I wasn't the biggest fan of Arkham Asylum so I'm not about to pay top dollar for the sequel.
Ah didn't know you were in Australia. They're good but definitely not $100 good.

Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City, Saints Row the Third, and all CoD games since MW2.

Won't buy any at full price, and I might never buy ME3 at all if it always keeps its Origin requirement.

I want BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend when it comes out, but I'm not sure if I'd be willing to pay $60 for 1 new character (and said character really doesn't interest me) and a new game-mode I probably wont play. All I ever do with the current BlazBlue are Storymode and training/versus. I don't even like to play it online. I guess I'm weird like that, but story/versus entertains me well enough.

Another game I want, but don't want to fork over 60 bucks for is CoD:MW3. I Enjoyed Black Ops' story, and it's online play(somewhat). And Zombies is always fun. However, I've always been a WWII-shooter fan so the whole modern combat thing is a fine line with me. I'm just not sure if I'd get my money's worth out of MW3.

I also thought Saint's Row: The Third wouldn't be worth the money, I was wrong. Even after borrowing the game from a friend and completing the story, I STILL want to buy the game just to do all of the side stuff and whatnot. That's something, coming from someone like me who can usually only afford to buy a game twice or thrice a year. Those of you that want(but doubt) SR3, go pick it up, it's phenomenally over the top and well worth it.

Every game I've bought since Doom 3. At least while Steam sales mean I can get every game I want for $15 or less, and most for $5.
Surprised it took more than 40 posts to get to the correct answer, which is indeed all games. When pretty much everything will be under $20 fairly quickly and a lot of them hit $5-10 (or less) if you keep an eye out during sales, there's absolutely no reason to pay full price for anything, especially with a backlog like I have (which is composed entirely of ridiculously cheap games).

There's plenty of stuff currently on steam that I'm just waiting for come on sale. I don't really want to pay the ridiculous prize they want during the release while I got plenty of cheaper stuff that I really enjoy playing. But I'll be fine buying them when I can get them for 10-20? a pop.

As the title says.

For me its Anno 2070, it looks good and interesting but i dont think its worth $50.
For you sir, i have my favorite game buy site :) it's awesome (no I'm not a bot, just happy :p) if a game is available on it, like saints row 3 and Anno, its almost always a lot cheaper, and yes its legal. i emailed steam about it once because i wanted to be sure, but it didnt matter so go there :D. Almost always saves up to 30% orso.

http://www.g2play.net/store/home.php
(or anno: http://www.g2play.net/store/Anno-2070-Retail-CD-Key.html)

I dont.... I dont... How?

My insticts are saying scam.... But it looks so ligit.... How can they sell it so cheap?

I'm looking forward to The Darkness 2, but I'm not sure I can justify the £30.

most of them, as i have this constant mentality of not being able to afford things (not sure why, seeing how i have a job and money)

nothing that's a game i want but don't want to buy because of principle, or not quite worth it.

i guess another contributing factor is that i also have a fairly short list on the list of games i want (can't even think of something right now)

Dead island comes to mind . Also all the shooters that came out last year which include but isn't limited to . FEAR3 , gears of war 3 , battlefield 3 , mw3, space marine , shadows of the damn etc... Hell the only game that is coming out this year that i will pay full price for is , FFXIII-2 and streetfight x tekken. And MAYBE xenoblade when it comes to NA.
I recommend strongly against Dead Island.
-crappy WOW-style quest system, they're just so boring
-weapons need to be replaced CONSTANTLY because of quickly diminishing durability
-weapon quality makes no sense at all! a small knife can be better than a big fucking club because it's name is written in purple text.
-everything levels up with you, so training seems incredibly pointless
-every female character wears a bathing suit (not a sexism complaint, I just find it irritating)

Overall the game just feels like it's lazily made; I honestly really wanted to enjoy it, but it's SOO BORING!

OT:
I've learned to wait a year for almost any game with few exceptions. I'll enjoy a single player game in 2013 just as much as I would at 2012 at a fraction of the price..... so why buy now?

MW3. I don't want to buy it for full price, and I'd much rather buy the silent hill collection, but it is all my friends play. :(
