I total Gamer rehash of the the pokemon world would be sweet, done on the wii. It is hard to explain what I am talking about unless I can tell you in person. One phrase "You control the pokemon during battle."
Maybe an entire Pokémon world in one game, starting in one "world" then later moving to each new one as you beat each league. Would that work? Or has that been discussed way too many times?
That's good but far too simplistic. I think they could do a good job if it played out a bit like a western rpg. Fully customizable avatar, choose your own path and battle as the pokemon instead of issuing commands . It may be a little complex but it would be so delicious to play.

Turok (for the 360)-

I was actually looking foward to this being a good game in all honesty, it wasn't too bad but I think it would have been awesomeness incarnate if they'd kept it like the classic Turok games (where the fuck where the Pur-lin?). I want them to remake this game in a 'classic Turok' style.

Alien Trilogy (PS1)-

This was a great game when it came out (even if it was a Doom clone) and I think that a remake (with the same run and gun gameplay) with improved graphics/sound etc. would be pretty good (at least I think that would be great anyway).

Perfect Dark Zero, it was enjoyable, for a single run through, but it never felt like Perfect Dark, so honestly, a new Perfect Dark.
I Agree, the varied levels, the wide array of weapons (all with different functions, not just 40 skins for an SMG), the multiplayer with challenging AI and awesome levels, the challenge games, side games like the shooting gallery. All classics. Needs to be remade for PC with better graphics, but wouldn't change a thing other than that.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City: keep everything just add the good points from 4 and SA, and more stuff to do.

If anyone says fricking Halo I want you to go shoot yourself. I'm talking old games that you were fantastic in concept, great for the time periods and could conceivably be awesome incarnate again with an update to today's standards.

My 2 nominees are Dragon Lance - I love dragons. if that makes me a giant nerd, so be it.

and populous - I liked being a god and spores is gay, just ask yahtzee.

In any event, this about what could be done with these 2 games if they were released with today's graphics and gameplay technology.

comments on mine or nominate your own pls.
The original Mechwarrior series--taken directly from the rules on the paper game. With today's graphics--that would definately rock. I'd even drag out my old "Thrustmaster" joystick that was machined from a solid aluminum billet....damn.....dating myself again.....yes, I am a old fart :)

Final Fantasy VII
Planescape: Torment
The original Star Control
I suppose I should clarify - don't change 'em, they were fantastic - just update them to latest and greatest graphics/sounds/tech/physics, ect.

None. If a game doesn't hold up the first go-round, it's dev team doesn't deserve a second chance. Of course, it's always admirable if a dev team at least attempts to patch a game's issues, but re-making an entire game just stagnates the industry we all know and love on this forum.

New ideas and re-workings of awesome concepts are always welcome, but just re-making the same game with the same damn levels is just a tiresome retread.

yeah i would have to go with legend of dragoon as well, i thought it was a really awesome battle system, and the story was pretty original. (.....and one of my disks is messed up so i can't finish it)

Other than that, Soul reaver...and theres probably another, but i can't think of it.

Oh god, yes. I play Zero ever once in awhile, trying to have as much fun as I did with the original. But it just pales in comparison as a sequel. I regret selling my N64 so much after playing Zero for a few hours every time it's in the disc tray.

A new Perfect Dark would be amazing.

Space Hulk but with the difficulty and gameplay of the original.
Now THAT I would buy, say improve the graphics, sounds, add some other weapons... Yep, that would be very nice.

Black & White.

Just replaying it now. Great game. Sequel was terrible though.

The original feels perfect for a remake though. While they could certainly do up the graphics there are certain gameplay elements that need a little touching up, plus they could improve the multiplayer.

I second that. Though I would freak out if anyone tried a remake to be honest.

Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal

and Chrono Cross (I find it superior to Chrono Trigger in every way)

and Gunstar Heroes
