I'm interested now. Elaborate, if you'd be so kind.
It's an indie game by a Russian dev team called Ice Pick Lodge. Basically, you play a doctor in an obscure frontier town that's suffering through a horrible plague, and you have to find a way to cure it. The graphics are pretty dated, and half the reason it's so hard to get through is the English translation is pretty shoddy, so you have to spend ten minutes figuring out wtf that npc just said to you.

It's one of those games that kind of challenges the very idea of a game...IPL doesn't even call it a game but a "decision making simulator." You get the feeling they tried to make it as grueling an experience as possible. Rock Paper Shotgun has a really good review of it if you'd like to find out more.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. shadow of cheobly ,now before you try and stab me with a knife......

I dont think its a bad game, I can see why its considered great and everything

But I feel that there is a great story there but its just buried under layers of drudgery,

could say the same for the witcher

I know it may seem like heresy, but Red Dead Redemption. I spoiled the ending on myself, then when I got around to the last few missions I just lost interest. I'll probably go back evantually just go say that I did finish it, but I've been saying that for 2 months.
Also, pokemon emerald. I got maybe half way through the gyms, then got Soul Silver (and then White) and probably havnt touched it since then.

Morrowind. For some reason all I did was explore. Never could stick to the quests.
Same here. Also, the fucking combat system makes me want to puke blood.

Me: "Alright. here we go, i'm going to kill this beastie here. Start swingin my sword. *swing...miss* alright, 1 miss. Nothin too bad. *swing...miss* *swing...miss* *swing...miss* *swing...miss* cmon... *swing...miss* *swing...miss* *swing...miss* really...? *swing...miss* *swing...miss* *swing...miss* *swing...miss* *swing...miss* WTF!!!?!?!?"

Monster: *trollface* problem?

I reallllly want to finish off Darksiders. I'm at the last part of the tower thing right after you free samael and before you free Azrael.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Minecraft. Both of them for obvious reasons...

God dammit stop making me laugh! I cough violently when I laugh! And now I'll have this mental image whenever I play Morrowind.

World of Warcraft, for some reason whenever I log in to play some more, there is a new folk wreaking the place up and there are places in the map I have never seen before.

Its like someone is deliberately making it impossible for me to beat the game...

Final Fantasy 12. The first FF game I played. I put in 40 hours. Stopped for a while. Forgot what I was supposed to do and put in another 50 hours. I haven't played in over a year. I may have to restart again.

Morrowind.

Oh god, your so good (after I added the damn 2GB of mods to make you way for realistic) but its so freaking dragged out and there's so many side things to do...

EDIT: and after posting this, i realise the guy above me just posted the exact same thing... awkward :3

Oddly enough, Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

The game was going great until the final part of White Forest. That part somehow managed to combine all the things I hate and dread in games. Time limits, vehicle sections, navigation with a time limit...

And then of course the whole accuracy thing with little room for error, as in running over the Hunters with the car, which was like steering a surfing elephant with 1 leg. And then throwing the Magnusson Device (WHY NO ROCKETS?). I tried it 3 times, failed, and that was years ago. Probably won't try it again.

It's not necessarily the challenge itself that's a problem for me, it's the clusterfuck combo of things I personally find tedious and annoying in games, there's just no potential for fun.
What's the time limit? As in, there's no giant clock in the corner, so what acts as the timer? Haven't played it since I completed it way back when.

OT: The Witcher.

Horrifically dull voice acting + incredibly dense and not particularly interesting opening area + randomly spawning dogs every time you fart = me no play play. Its just too dense for me to even think about getting through.

I'm really looking forward to the second though.

Far Cry 2... Purely because it and Overlord 2 are the only games in my collection that i haven't finished..

But then i remember that Far Cry 2 is just so much map reading and getting your car stuck in a tree

Overlord 2 just locked me in a room with the final boss and some archers with only 1 blue imp and around 5 brown ones and told me to kill him using only imps...

I'd like to finish Oblivion, but I know it ain't happening... and I haven't even really started the storyline quests.

First thing I did was beat the assassin's guild into the ground, then the thieves' guild, the the fighters' guild, then the arena. I started on the mages guild and then POW! Out of nowhere I started to wonder what the heck was the point, put the game down and haven't been back to it since >.<

I look forward to Skyrim coming out, I kinda hope there isn't so much side questing that it causes me to get bored of the game before I even get to the plot >.>

Any Metroid game. I seriously couldn't finish any of them; I don't know why they bored me so much. I really wanted to like them.

Mirror's Edge: great concept, lame gameplay and I just couldn't be bothered to care about the story.

Ocarina of Time. I thoroughly enjoyed the game, but then enlisted when I was halfway in and never had a chance to finish it.

There are plenty of others, but those are the ones that stick out in my mind.

Bioshock. I played through about 3/4 of it at a friends house over a weekend while everyone was recovering from the previous night and when I finally got it myself I just couldn't be bothered with it.

Also Infinited Undiscovery, just to see if it gets good at any point (I doubt it though so it can sit and gather dust for all I care ><).

Dead Rising (Difficult), any touhou game (Take a wild guess), Gunstar Heros on Hardest (beat 7 force at least), Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon(I hate letting people die for any reason, I'm not going to do it for your extra stages), FF4DS (I HATE that CPU, I should be able to beat the game without having to grind myself stupid at any point in any RPG), Golden Sun (all of them, I refuse to play Dark Dawn until I beat lost age, and the original before Lost Age.)

Every game that I get for free. If I don't pay for something, I don't feel an urge to make sure I didn't waste mah moneh.
