Games you want to get into but can't

Thing is, I feel like I could really get into it if it weren't for the awkwardness of the controls and the terrible fixed camera, because combined overcoming them is proving more challenging than any enemy I've encountered thus far. Having a fixed camera in a game with direction-based attacks/moves, particularly when said moves are dependent on which direction the character is facing, just doesn't seem like a good idea.
I thought the controls in DMC were way worse than DMC1. Weapon switching system was awkward as hell and you were battling the controller and directional input more than the enemies.

The Witcher II. No matter how many times I try I just can't get into the game at all.
I felt this way too. I'm all about open games, but the Witcher 2 felt like it had no direction. I don't feel like I'm doing anything, just wandering around doing chores.

It was also really punishing. Maybe I've run into a few places where I'm just supposed to die because I made the wrong choice, I dunno.

Not to mention I currently live in the dorms and I don't want my neighbors to think that I am committing murder in my room.
Frustrating it is, but Demon's Souls was worse. That swamp still makes me angry to think about. I hate that swamp, and I don't hate most things.

Dishonored -- I just don't get along with first person stealthing.
Dishonored here, too. First person? NEVER. Also another reason, I simply don't like the setting of the game.
Dishonored as well, but for me it is the story. It's well it's bad. I think it could of been fixed by not having a silent protagonist but beyond that I dunno. Also the magic guy who gives you your powers (I forget his name) he totally just comes out of left field. "here is your powers" and then leaves. I thought I was gonna like make a deal with the devil or something and finding a way to wriggle out of it would be part of the plot but nope. Does anyone not remember the trailer? The initial trailer they had sold it as "You're Corvo a guy who made a deal with dark powers to get revenge, now go kill some dudes" Instead he is like 'hey man here is your super powers have fun'. I got the feeling they wanted him to be like the G-man from halflife but it just doesn't work.

Assassin's Creed.
I tried.

I recall getting around half-way through II and then being bored out of my mind. I really disliked a lot of mechanics and the story. Apparently that's the best title in the franchise alongside Brotherhood.
What a shame. At least I borrowed it from a friend...so no harm done.

Can't recall any other, because either I click with it or I don't.
This was an instance where I wanted to click but inherently wasn't meant to.

Oh, and maybe Dota 2. But I haven't invested nearly enough time to make that decision just yet.
I sort of liked what I played, but another part of me despised having to stay in a match for 40 minutes without really being able to go back to real life without consequence. What if my foot inexplicably got cut off? Then I get sent to low priority!

Most of my PS2 games. Partly because I can't save whenever I want and I get physically ill by how much I worry about it. No doctor/therapist has helped. I'm just about as mystified as I am frustrated.

Fallout but it's not compactible with Window 7.

There also that Fire Emblem game that star Roy from SSB Melee but that never got release outside of Japan. I also wanted to get Ultimate Muscle and Custon Robo for the Gamecute but those two never got release outside of the US.

Always wanted to get into the old CRPGS for the PC such as Baldurs gate 1 and 2, Arcanum and the ultima series to name a few but I just cant I have tried on numerous occasions but each time I just become disengaged usually because combat becomes a chore quickly and I never get attached to any of the characters it just seems stale to me even though I can appreciate the scope of what they are trying to achieve especially with some of the Ultima games.

I may try Arcanum and Baldurs gate 2 again as those were the ones I got furthest in but I dont know I just cant find the interest to keep going after a while I dont think I have ever got further than 12 hours into them.

I have also always wanted to get into the RTS games any would do but I am terrible at them and I just get no enjoyment out of them even if I do well so I have given up.

I tried to get into Mass Effect, and there really isn't much of a reason why I shouldn't like it. I found the combat awful, but other than that all the pieces were there for a game I'd enjoy, in theory. Other than the combat, I can't put my finger on it.

Heroes of Might and Magic.

I like the story, I like the art, I like the concepts. I can't be bothered with the actual game. Whenever I've played an installment of Heroes (except Dark Messiah) I just wind up cheating my ass off and fast tracking the game till I can listen to the epilogue.

Kingdoms of Amalur is generic as fuck. I don't have one single arbitrary unit of caring in my body when it comes to what's going on in that game. All I know is I'm the chosen one and some evil dude who has no setup is being evil and shit. So I'm just following objective markers and killing the two enemies that show up along the way by pressing X a few times.

I really want to like this game but I can't run ten feet without instantly burning out.

At least the music's good.
I was playing that game for like 10 hours and I cannot for the life of me remember what the fuck was going on. I could not remember a single person's name at all.
