Games you want to play, but for whatever reason can't.

Hello again Escapist. Hope you all are doing well. So, like the thread title says, what are some of the games you want to play but can't?

For me it's the Super Robot Wars series. If you're a fan of pretty much any mecha anime series odds are it is in this series, sadly however this series, outside of 2 games, has never seen official english release. To me this sucks, but I can understand why.

Spoiler: The sheer number of mecha series in these games would be a licensing nightmare.

However this series has a subseries consisting of original characters created by the games developers, the "original generation" series. This series got 2 releases in english on the GBA, which I loved, making them pretty much the only turn based strategy games I like.

There's a new game in this subseries on the PS3, but sadly it looks like the game will never get translated, so my only option is to import, however when I tried to import it, since the PS3 is region free, I was informed they don't deliver to Canada. I also can't speak or read Japanese. Though from what I've heard by talking to fans of the series, I'd only be missing out on the story, as the actual gameplay isn't that difficult to figure out for those who can't understand Japanese.

Spoiler: For anyone curious, here's a video of some attack scenes for one of the many characters in the new game. These scenes can be disabled/skipped as well.

P.S Sorry if this kinda reads like I'm advertising the series or something, a rule on my old messageboard was to give a bit of info about games we talked about, be it a written description or a video. So it's kind of a habit after doing it for a few years.

Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.
It's a 3DS game and I don't have a 3DS, and I don't want to buy one since I already have a DS lite. I AM SO CONFLICTED WITH THESE CONFLICTING EMOTIONS. There's so many good 3DS games that I just can't play because I can't decide to buy a 3DS.

I wanted to finish Metro Last Light, but my poor old 2009 Mac couldn't handle it.

I struggled through on low settings and terrible performance until I got to one level where everything was on fire and was reduced to literally one frame per second.

According to the internet, this is actually a problem specific to certain video cards, but the fact my card is ancient wouldn't help matters.

Not that fussed. The game was fairly meh. But it wasn't bad and I still would have liked to finish it.

Specifically Rayman Legends, Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3, Grid 2, Forza Horizon, Need for Spped Most Wanted, Bioshock Infinite, Dishonoured, DmC, Dead or Alive 5, Remember Me, Darksiders II, Hitman Absolution and a whole host of other titles to a greater or lesser degree.

See I work in China, where the Xbox is not officially on sale and only go home for a month a year. I could get the games shipped to me but its a lot of hassle, the post isn't terribly reliable and I'm always worried they will go missing. Every year I go home and buy about 40-50 titles (usually cheaply) and they have to last me the whole year.

Shin Megami Tensei IV, because Atlus hates Europe and Nintendo thinks region-locking makes sense.

I can sort of understand why it's taking so long, though. They have no EU branch and their holding company is collapsing. It's still annoying though.

Fable 2 and Infamous, I guess. I never had a PS3 to play Infamous, and even when someone I know had one, I never asked him to play it. And Fable 2.. Well, I have an Xbox360, only that it's in pieces since I tried to mod it and made a mess of it in my impatience and hubris. Basically rewritten the NAND with corrupted garbage, and also broken off an smd resistor. Good times.

I want to play Persona 2, but i can't because Sony won't allow me to use my credit card on the American Psn store, they literally don't want my money. And i want to play Suikodden 2 but is incapable of doing so because ir costs around 200$... And Konami refuses to rerelease it for some reason.

You never got Siren 2 in NA? That really sucks, that game is waaay better than the first game in every possible way, and obviously superior to the crappy BloodCurse you game.

I'd really love to play Persona 4 and Journey in particular, though there have been other titles I'm sad I missed due to not owning a PS console this gen. My main issue is that there's a dozen games that I want on the platforms that I already have access to. It would just feel like wasting money (because I'm a poor poor student who should probably stop spending as much money on games as I do let alone more).

I've had a really bad itch lately to play a few rounds of Geometry Wars, but I unfortunately lost my copy of PGR3 a long time ago. I could buy it online I suppose, there's nothing stopping me, but I'm moving out in a couple of days and the Xbox isn't coming with me so it'd be a bit of a waste.

The Mother/earthbound series due to being a citizen of the greatst country on earth.... That's right Wales. patriotism aside that and fire emblem (the original few games) are ones which I couldn't play but would've liked to. Starcraft 2 I'd like to play but I'm sure my laptop would die trying to run it.

At the moment? Fallout New:Vegas.

My local PC repair messed up the thermal paste on my CPU during a regular servicing of my gaming rig so now it can go all the way up to 99°C during after 15 minutes of playing and I just haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.

Unless it's a Fallout specific problem? Anyone else's CPU temperature sky-rockets playing F:NV?

Because the 2DS was announced, and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay $170 for a 3DS when in a month and a half I can get something that will play 3DS games while trimming the fat of all that gimmicky 3D bull-crap, thus offering me exactly what I want for less money.
