None. Besides if you did want to get something than you'd get it. By not getting it means you really never wanted it all that much to begin with.
So it's my fault that I don't have $400 to blow on a PS4 just to play the first game in years that I've been genuinely excited for? What are you talking about?

So because I'm forced to choose between a new console and game and rent and heat that means I don't want it enough? Do you even know what the hell you're talking about?
What is the specs on your computer?
Just because someone can afford one expensive gaming machine, doesn't mean they can afford two. Besides which, spending that much on a console you only plan to use for one game is just insane.

Seriously, people are capable of varying degrees of desire. It's what we call "having priorities".

The new Legend of Zelda. I sold my Wii U for my PS4 so I obviously can't get the new Zelda which legit depresses me a bit. It looks so beautiful.

Let's see here...

¤ Red Dead Redemption
¤ Last of Us
¤ Gears Of War 1-3
¤ Ni no Kuni
¤ Uncharted 1-3 (and 4 coming out)[footnote]I've played all three now at a friend's, but I'd have been more than willing to buy them myself if they'd been released on PC.[/footnote]
¤ Professor Layton
¤ Tokyo Jungle
¤ The World Ends With You
¤ The Order: 1886 (isn't out yet, but still)
¤ Bravely Default
¤ Tales of Xillia
¤ Journey
¤ Infamous

I think that's it. There are a few hard-to-get-now PS2 games that I'd jump at getting if they'd release on PC, but I'm guessing we're talking previous and current gen.

Its not your fault if you are poor no, however gaming is something you invest in with excess cash. If you have the excess cash to be in gaming, than you have the excess cash to afford another machine. By not getting the platform than it means you never wanted the exclusives as much as you thought to start with so you shouldn't worry about it.
Remember that exclusives usually come in the form of a series of games, you'd not just be looking at 1 game. Atelier Rorona was one game exclusive to the PS3, it got 6 additional games in the series on that platform.

Tales of Vesperia was an exclusive that I might have played when the inevitable "why don't I give that inferior to Star Ocean series a chance" phase came about, but the day never came as I just didn't want it enough.
The Last Remnant was similar but that actually came to PC so as I had one already (I'd not get a gaming PC for The Last Remnant no) so I got it.

Poppycock for reasons already noted.

Than clearly their priorities regarding the games they bemoan not having available to them weren't all that important if they never took the step to make it available to them.

It's seems like you have trouble with some basic math.

If there is one exclusive I really want for the PS4, it would cost me $460 to get that game (assuming I'm in the US, but since I'm in south-east Europe, it would cost me over 700 euro, which is close to $900).

For that money I could by 18 games on release date on Steam or over 100 games on sales.

It's not that I don't want that game. It's that I can't justify burning $840. There is absolutely no game in the universe that is worth that kind of money no matter how much you want it.

The thread title isn't "Games you wanted more than anything else in the world but..."

It's just "Games you wanted to get but..."

Jesus Christ, do you have any idea how divorced from reality you seem?

Basic Math? Where did I do any calculations on anything, I'm talking about a person's want on the matter not how much it'd cost.

ITT: Consoles have fixed prices (except if different countries apparently) and stay that way forever. The PS3 is still 599 us dollars as everyone knows.

Addressed that already, exclusives come in a line for the most part. Additionally there are surely other games, you've merely not found them.

Divorced from reality? You mean your comment that if you can afford one expensive machine it doesn't mean you can't afford two?

I'm talking reality here, if you want something...you get it simple as that. Don't and you merely didn't want it as much as you thought. Why have so many people in this thread not got a cheap PS3 and played those PS3 exclusives they talk about? Because they just didn't want it enough to even wait a decade to get it on the cheap simple as that.

The on what facts did you base your post? You said everyone can get everything if they really want it. On what basis did you say that if not on the price which dictates everything?

Also no, consoles don't have fixed prices. That's almost exclusive to NoA. The rest of the world has an open market where the console manufacturer can't force the price, although the prices do settle close to each other after a while.

And there is literally only Demon Souls that I'm interested in the whole PS3 catalog. Just because some exclusives come in a line doesn't mean you want all the parts.

You make far too many assumptions and generalize too many things and take the opinion you formed based on them as a fact rather than just as what it is. A opinion.

I want a Ferrari, a huge house with a pool, a high end gaming PC, all the consoles that come out even if they don't have games I'm interested in, a cute boyfriend... I want tons of stuff. Just because you want something doesn't mean your will get it. I think it's safe to assume that you were born under a lucky star in a relatively rich family if you really think you can get everything just because you want it.

Having to pay literally 2 monthly wages just to get the console and then paying for the game and as it seems for the semi-forced online... that's not as easy and simple as you seem to think.

Your specs and how much they cost you? No point answering your case directly if I don't have that info.

Due to exclusivity? None.

My friend has a 360, and I have a PS3 and a PC. Luckily most of the exclusives (on either end) sparked no interest from me. However many PS1 and 2 games evade me, as I don't have a working PS1/2 or they aren't on the PSN. Oh, well. I'll live.

Ya know what just came to my mind...Yokai Watch. I want to thank Nintendo for region-locking the 3DS now when all of their other handheld game consoles have been region free. Granted, it sucks having to import games like JUMP Ultimate and, Super Stars. I haven't imported J-Star Victory VS yet since I don't know if I'll ever get a Vita and don't know if there's a Korean version out yet. Even aside from Yokai Watch and the aforementioned Jump games, there are other Japan-only games that I would have loved to have played such as Bahamut's Lagoon, Namco vs Capcom and, all of the dating sims based off of the various anime I liked watching...Unless I'm mistaken I'm pretty sure there was also a Deathnote game that played like Professor Layton...I think...

I feel I made the right decision in choosing the PS3 over the Xbox as my first console as alot of my favourite games have proven to be PS exclusives.

The only Xbox exclusive I regret not being able to play is Alan Wake.

The only one I can think of currently is Ni No Kuni. I love Ghibli and RPGS...sounds perfect to me, but alas I don't own a PS3. Hopefully I can play it on my PS4 though, at some point.

I had a PS3 so was able to play all those exclusives, and even the Infamous and Red dead were the only ones that stood out

and right now?....TOMB RAIDER....hurr huur....hurr

seriously though nothing off the top of my head

well the Order 18-whatever looks interesting but "looks interesting" is hardly enough to "want" something thease days,

I'd really like to play Persona 3&4. Also Journey. But I can't justify buying a PSVita/3 for those games alone, not when I have more than enough titles I'm looking forward to on the platforms that I do own.

Alan Wake was ported to the PC a while back.

Either that or I was hallucinating playing it on the PC.

Only the older PS3's. I believe the 60 GB versions and earlier. So you'd need to find one of the older ones for a decent price.
