Hopefully it won't come to this, but if Mass Effect 3 comes bundled with Origin for Xbox, screw Bioware. Generally I'll continue to buy the game anyway, but used so none of the money can reward the publishers (a viewpoint that is roughly equivalent to blasphemy around here).

I don't refuse to buy any games. If it seems intresting and good I'll buy it no matter what developer/publisher the game has.
I am very sceptic when it comes to Square Enix, Activision and Bioware games however.

Only Call of Duty. What's worse isn't even that they're hardly changing anything, but rather that whatever changes they make seem to be making the game worse. I played MW3, briefly, and the first MW was so much goddamn better.

I see this thread, and all I see are people who are more interested in the politics surrounding gaming than gaming itself.

But that is your choice to make.

BF3 due to it's Origin requirement. Love BF games. Yes, I know their are hacks, but with the amount of banning EA are doing, it is only a matter of time until they ban for using this hack.

Will be happy to use Origin when it gives the option of whether you want to share hardware and software data or not, like Steam.

I'm not going to buy Mass Effect 3 and I will not buy any EA game simply on a matter of principle. I love Bioware. Let me repeat: I FUCKING LOVE BIOWARE. I've played more KOTOR and Mass Effect 1/2 than I think I have every single other game put together, maybe excluding Bethesda games. But I can't fucking do it anymore.
why not? Is it the SOPA thing or just that hideous malware called Origin? Since those are the 2 reasons why i wont. The really shitty thing about it is that those 2 reasons have nothing to do with the games(developer) itself, just the douchebag Publisher behind it. I still like Bioware...even after DA2 which was just an insult to the genre, so go figure.

Also Ubisoft is coming close to my 'will not buy list', because of the DRM: If your gonna treat all your customers like they are possible pirates, dont be suprised if some start acting like it.

I used to be a pirate when i was a selfish teenager, then i grew up, got a job and money and start buying games to support the companies and i always wanted my bookcase to be full of gameboxes. Now i'm considering going back to piracy to escape all the privacy-invasion and DRM hassle from said companies.

I pretty much have given up on CoD. Not because I think its a bad game, nope I actually rather like it, but I am giving it up because I have a busy job, and not much time at all to play online... This means when I do I pretty much suck... And then people becom rude and obnoxious just because of that!

I also have a backlog of RPG's to play, and some other games as well, that I really just want to work through, but unless I stop trying to keep up with the yearly CoD game, I will never get through... so bye bye CoD! Was nice knowing you!

This is petty, I know but I've bumped into several games over the last few years that based on their history I've flat out refused to buy. I'm deathly afraid that contributing to these games in the slightest could cause another atrocious sequal or series disfiguration in the future.

For instance:

I haven't bought Assassin's Creed: Revelations and I don't ever plan on it. Its sad watching a series that could go anywhere ANYWHERE with such a good start fall to the trap of yearly game making and overusing the same two protagonist. Assassin's Creed II is one of my favorite games of all time and if Ubisoft finally drops Altair and Ezio (off the face of the flat earth) I'll consider it. But as of now Assassin's Creed is dead to me. So maybe if I don't buy AC:R maybe some other people won't either and Ubisoft will get the hint and go back to making better, less thoughtless games.

Simply because it's not Dante. Seriously, he's an alternate reality clone or something! Not to mention the emo haircut, he smokes and he doesn't even sound or act like him. The gameplay does look pretty good and pretty but thats all they're getting out of me. Buy the HD remakes. You'll enjoy them much more than this poor excuse for a sequal reboot prequal alternate universe outsourcing of a mess.
You wont buy another AC because they're using the same characters over and over, but you also wont buy DMC because they've essentially changed the character?

There are no games I've refused to buy or boycotted because of something. If I don't buy a game it's because I'm simply not interested in it. I don't buy CoDs because they look just like the last copy of it and just like Madden and Fifa, I'm not interested. I dont think Activision are wrong for selling the same game with new skins to millions of people willing to trade money for an updated equipment and skins and map pack.

When I was a kid, I really liked Daggerfall (Elder Scrolls before Morrowind). So when the third Elder Scrolls game came out in 2002, I was rather excited. I even bought new parts for my PC to play it.

And it sucked.

And it sucked again in 2006.

And I only got a 2011 version as a gift... and it sucked a third time.

So I don't buy Bethesda games anymore.
Hate to be "that guy" but your case is one of personal taste, not protest.

OT: None. I judge a game by it's merits, if a game is good then I'll buy it. Just because EA is composed faggots of undescribable proportions doesn't mean I'm going to deny myself a game by one of my favorite devs. I.E. Mass Effect 3.

Anything by EA, more importantly, any recent EA game because it requires the usage of Origin.

Not only are the Origin prices ridiculous, I like my Steam and it's not going anywhere right now. That whole "spyware" thing is also total bs.

assassins creed
Fable(i wouldnt have said this before fable 3 came out and shat all over my face)
Madden games
Any kinect/move games (unless motion controls have actually made them more fun)

pretty much any other game that does more than 2 sequels which more or less follows the same formular.

This argument again? Seriously? Look guy it's not supposed to be the exact same Dante that has been in previous installments for TWO major reasons:

1. The game is not being made by Capcom. It's only being produced, distributed and funded by Capcom. Ninja Theory is making the game, and therefore it's not going to be the same game that 1-4 was.

2. Dante's a bloody TEENAGER in this game. You honestly can not tell me that every single teenager acts, looks, and behaves the same as their future adult self will, especially if that teenager had to live on the streets ever since he was a baby because his mother and father were both slaughtered by demons. Teenagers are rebellious, they experiment with hazardous substances, and behave however they want. Plus I will say again, it's not the same developers who are making this game. Therefore they will have Dante look and behave differently than how Capcom did.

Now that that little thing is done, I shall continue with the original topic. There's only one game that I will not shame myself in purchasing, solely because the fans of said game have all but murdered any likable quality about it.

SKYRIM.

I was actually considering purchasing Skyrim not too long ago once I acquired the funds necessary. But there's only so much pandering, needless praising, and "Arrow to the FRICKEN Knee" jokes that one can take before the game is just completely ruined.

I try to avoid buying games unless they are genius now. EA boil my piss and so do Actiblizzion. I refuse to buy MW3, I'mma try and not buy diablo 3 but that might be too hard if it comes to xbox.

Any steam-exclusive game.
As well as other singleplayer games that requires a continuous internet connection.
