EA. I've never personally been affected by their policies, but I've just read too much and their practices are just too unscrupulous. I won't support them.

Wait, I'm kind of confused here. The thread title made it sound like these were games you really wanted to play but refused to in order to protest something, but from the actual description it just sounds like you're just not interested in any of them. Which, sure, I haven't bought games I didn't like the look of before.

If you're talking about actually protesting something by not buying a game, I was very excited about Shadow Complex and still think it looks like a great game, but I was reluctant to buy it after I heard about Orson Scott Card's involvement.

Anything Xbox-exclusive.

Seriously, Microsoft, if you showed even the slightest HINT of respect towards your PC customers, it would be much, much easier to not hate you.
Good one!

that 'Devil May Cry' wanna be from ninja theory, BECAUSE of ninja theory's comments.

also, Origin, cause its spyware

but far as publishers go my 'boycotting' anything usually reads as 'they make nothing i want to play' case in point, i've only owned ONE game from ubisoft, ever, and it was awesome :D

(it was No More Heroes btw)

COD because they wont update the engine and gameplay and recode the multiplayer and make the ai actually intelligent instead of putting them on rails and not going back to WW2 or better yet, korea, vietnam, or even ww1. Frankly the modern combat is old and the only ones to do it right out side of tom clancy spec ops stuff is battlefield, because its so bat shit insane.

Assasins Creed: ITS FUCKING OLD AND THE DESMOND PLOT NEED TO EXIST! all you need is two factions who want to ruin each others shit! is a medieval gta so hard? not every story has to be convoluted, sometimes we just want to see a likable character do what dey do (see Bad Company)

Any sports games....sports games suck wang.

Final Fantsy, characters suck, story sucks, gameplay sucks, the art work is ridiculous and serve to only look cool (even though it looks like a middle schooler from america trying to be japanese) and they ARE WAY TO GOD DAMN LONG!!!

Bioware games, not bad, but they do need to make the dialogue choices LESS AMBIGUOUS!!! like how fallout lets you see exactly what you say, in bioware games i dont know what the fuck im selecting, and how dare you make console games and a star wars mmo where the action isnt real time beat em up/shooter instead of point and click. Also, make that text bigger for god's sake, i cant fucking read it on a 60 inch hd tv!

I wish I could Boycott EA because of their shitty Origin and EA online garbage, but the games they publish are just too good to pass up. I don't know what my life would be like without BF3 and the Mass Effect series.

Any game developed, published or even associated with Bethesda.

Skyrim was an exception. And I got it on the PS3. Finish the story from there -_-. Needless to say, it's an exception I won't be making again. Shame, because I was enjoying the game, but Bethesda needs to get its shit together. I don't care how many fanboys it may piss off, functionality should not be a nice little bonus feature like Bethesda thinks it is.

As much as I hate it, i think at the right price I will buy any game, assuming it works. I will never pay more than 3 dollars for a COD game unless I have reason to believe it isn't just a map pack. Ive bought a lot of games i didn't think I would like this week due to steam sales and am enjoying them. If the COD's went on steam for like 2 dollars ea I would buy them, but I can't see my self paying two figures for the entire collection, and I own COD2 and 4.

Ubisoft has pissed me off on the PC side, the Splinter Cell games on steam either dont work or use horrible code making COOP run at 15 fps. The single player is still good enough to buy if its on the cheap. Game I protest to download, even if it becomes entirely free is World of Warcraft, not because its a bad game or company, but because I fear I won't resist an addiction.

Fallout New vegas.

I'm sick of games set in a post apocalyptic wasteland but new vegas is set in the desert...so its set in the wasteland of the wasteland...fucking hell?! Really? A wasteland is bad enough but a wasteland desert? how would you fucking even tell the difference?

I'd been impressed that if the climate shift from all the nukes turned the desert into a radioactive but lush jungle.

think about fallout but set in the toxic jungle from Nuastica and the Valley of the wind (or Warriors of the Wind if your old like me). That would be sweet!
I respect your opinion and all and I agree that a Fallout set in the jungle could be pretty sweet, but I think you're missing out a bit by not playing New Vegas. It is actually a really good RPG and it's way better than Fallout 3 in my opinion.
I've watched my friends play new vegas for enough time to know that i would hate it just as much as fallout 3. when it comes to games like elder scrolls or fallout the enviroment that i'm exploring is waaaay more important than anything else. I like the rich lusious fantasy worlds of elder scrolls but the fallout games just bore and depress me

I would have to say Bully! I was bullied and making the main hero ot anti-hero for game insults me and anyone else who was bullied!
Bully actually has a VERY strong anti-bullying message. Once the main character defeats one of the rival factions, i.e. Jocks, he tells them to stop bullying the smaller guys and gals. The game's all about helping others out with their problems, not yours. The main character's actually a nice guy, he's just mad that his mom got re-married (again for the third time), and that she sent him to prep-school.

It's not a bad game, the title is just very mis-leading.

Has anybody else been so traumatized by a game in the past that you've flat out refused to indulge the devs by buying any future games?
I refuse to buy games that cost over £20, if that counts.

I am not buying any game that forces me to install Origin. I'm still waiting on whether only the "Digital Deluxe" version of Mass Effect 3 will have this "feature", or the "standard" version as well. If the latter, I'm going to have to forgo it, and it's kind of going to suck, but I cannot knowingly play a part in "it's industry standard that your software will report any software you might have installed to us" being a reality in anything other than some schmuck marketer's mind.

Call of Duty MW3

Not for any of the reasons that's been stated 100x over. Mine is simply for how shoddily Activision and IW treat the series. Treyarch on the other hand I give big props to. But when MW3 came out, expected people to pay for Elite when other games did all of that for free, and then they don't bother to carry over all the good things Treyarch did? The only reason I play the damn franchise is because I can't find any other game with the same level of strategy and addictiveness that is Search and Destroy. I don't bother with anything else. So when MW3 drops with a shitty matchmaking, infinite teamkilling (that they finally freaking patched), and nontransparent objective markers that BlackOps had otherwise, it says that they're wasting my time. They made 1 billion dollars 16 days after the game hit, and I still can't get servers? I get to see a whole ****ton of this http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/comics/critical-miss/9233-Modern-Warfare-3 They truly put zero effort into this game.

Hence I refused to buy it.

The Witcher 2. I would probably really enjoy the gameplay but the last one a was so sexist it made my face hurt. Despite reassurances to the contrary I don't trust this one to be any better.

I know I'm being ridiculous but I'll probably never buy it.

Diablo III. Nothing to do with the game itself, but how blizard is trying to push gaming. I wil not support a move like this.

Due to my LoveFilm subscription which lets me rent up to 2 games a month for £5.99, with the option of just keep on renting the game until I'm done with it. I only really buy games that I love like the HD releases of stuff like ICO-Shadow of the Colossus or games with nice extras in the special/collectors editions (i.e. Catherine or Arkham City).

The only thing I flat out refuse to buy is the Kinect or Playstation Move. I already have the Wii if I want to be annoyed by motion controls.

I refuse to buy Battlefield 3 because of Origin. It's sad, really, because I was so ready to buy that game and then EA had to go and fuck everything up. Once they remove Origin, then I will.

I also refuse to buy any of the Modern Warfare games or Black Ops just because. If I somehow won it though (like if, by some miraculous chance, I won every game on Steam) I would probably just play the single player and then give them to somebody else.

I'm not going to buy Mass Effect 3 and I will not buy any EA game simply on a matter of principle. I love Bioware. Let me repeat: I FUCKING LOVE BIOWARE. I've played more KOTOR and Mass Effect 1/2 than I think I have every single other game put together, maybe excluding Bethesda games. But I can't fucking do it anymore.
why not? Is it the SOPA thing or just that hideous malware called Origin? Since those are the 2 reasons why i wont. The really shitty thing about it is that those 2 reasons have nothing to do with the games(developer) itself, just the douchebag Publisher behind it. I still like Bioware...even after DA2 which was just an insult to the genre, so go figure.

Also Ubisoft is coming close to my 'will not buy list', because of the DRM: If your gonna treat all your customers like they are possible pirates, dont be suprised if some start acting like it.

I used to be a pirate when i was a selfish teenager, then i grew up, got a job and money and start buying games to support the companies and i always wanted my bookcase to be full of gameboxes. Now i'm considering going back to piracy to escape all the privacy-invasion and DRM hassle from said companies.
It's both of those things. Also see the Jimquisition and Extra Credits episodes about EA. I think there's an extra punctuation about EA too. There's lots. Activisions used to be on my list too but I've since revised my position on that one. Like yourself, ubisoft is also coming up on my list.

the call of duty and modern warfare series simply because they are very discriminative against russians and germans.
the wars are over.
get ov3er it and live your life without having stereotypical pictures of all germans -> nazis and all russians -> communists
