Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War and Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 (Jugdral Series)
1. Localization, they were SFC titles so Japan only at the time of release so a remake with the larger popularity of the series after Awakening would get them out of Japan.
2. Different take in story and game play. Compared the the Fire Emblems before and after the Jugdral series was a nice Dark Fantasy Fire Emblem with Geneaology having its Large chapter multi-castle sieges and Thracia including many "hardcore" elements that made it tougher but a lot of fun. Combining it with mechanics gained from the more modern Fire Emblems to iron out the annoying factors of the games but keep the more interesting choices that only appeared in the Jugdral games.
2a. Annoying factors: No trading without selling and re-buying at Pawn shop, Confusing relationship and inheritance system, Bad pre-GBA RNG system, Enemy infinite weapon durability, Enemy weapon swap when attacked(If the enemy had an sword and bow and had the sword equiped, if you attacked from range they could equip the bow when attacked), Thracia's Healing staves that could miss, Edit: Individual money and only trading between lovers or from a thief.
2b. Cool Mechanics: Large maps in Geneology(Multiple castles you had to capture and hold along with a base castle that you had to defend at risk of game over), Relationship system (Awakening had it and tying it to the support conversations was a brilliant move), Repairable weapons (similar to other rpgs weapons were less disposable, but the variety requiring a character to keep multiple weapons was intact, weapons could break but remain with a character able to be repaired), Pawn Shop (sell items but keep them for later and buy them back), Stamina in Thracia (little bit annoting but it makes you varry your party and is cool enough that it can come back for a Thracia remake only), Capturing (capture enemy units and take their items, fit with Thracia's theme of being a resistance within a poor country so weapons from a shop would be really expensive), Edit: If made less annoying the individual money could be a cool way to ad a strategy to your funding.
I love these games, I plug a way at a fan translation on my phone any chance I get. I would love to see these games done justice with a remake and some modernization. The mechanics went against what you expect even now form Fire Emblem, and the morally grey, dark story is one of my favorites, and even with those major changes it still feels like what you expect from a Fire Emblem game.
