Games you wish had a sequel.

if theres anything we have learned over the years its that sequels almost always are aweful. however i am not saying there are no exceptions. however if i were to choose a sequel i would choose kotor 3.

Yeah, pretty much this. Sequels are generally a BAD IDEA, but there are exceptions. And I'd also like to see a KOTOR 3. I'm dieing to know what that big bad evil was that they kept eluding to in KOTOR II that caused Reven to become the Dark Lord in order to unite the Sith and Republic against it.

I'm noticing a lot of 'Thisgame 2' and 'Thatgame 4' and 'Return to Thisothergame: The second verse.'

It seems that a lot of you are wanting sequals TO FRIKKEN SEQUALS.

It's not a thread about sequals that you are glad they made, it's about gorram sequals that they haven't made -yet-.

And games that -just came out- aren't exactly something that needs a sequal, they've not even exhausted their own play yet.

And most of the rest have had sequals that have been announced. (Valkyria Chronicals, as an example)

So.

Planescape: Torment. Yes.
Wasteland. Yes.
Master of Magic. Yes.
Star Control 2. Yes. (A: it's such a different game than Star Control 1, that it doesn't count as a sequal, really. Also, I'm in denial about Star Control 3)

Psychonauts was one of my favorite games from last gen, and only a small number of people actually bought the game or, really, knew that it existed when it came out. Newly formed game developer Doublefine released it with the publishing "might" of Majesco behind them. In spite of it's poor sales, the game itself was quite brilliant. The setting and humor within it are top notch (with the back-to-back levels by the lake being among my favorites in all of gaming), and while the gameplay had some weak points here and there, it was still a genuinely thrilling and fun platformer.

Although it may be a bit of a poke to the ribs, but in order to get some extra interest (and some pre-orders, naturally), I would suggest that the original game (made compatible for the next-gen systems) be included as a pre-order bonus of some sort. This would be mainly for those people that haven't played the original and aren't quite sure what they're wandering into with Psychonauts 2.

Planescape: Torment

It's one of my favorite games of all time, and I expected a series of games in the vein of Baldur's Gate/Neverwinter Nights. The end begged for a sequel.

Hopefully somebody takes up the mantle and creates another game in the Planescape universe, it's the only D&D setting I'm actually interested in.

I hate you Lucasarts, I really fucking hate you. You can't make a game for shit nowadays, nor can you even play publisher to a game that people have been asking for. Instead you just commission an MMO.

Oh yeah, and the next Elder Scrolls. It'll happen (obviously, how could it not?) but they normally take ages with these things. Although it has been nearly 4 year since Oblivion come to think of it.

Assassin's Creed... I hate being a PC gamer sometimes -_- But in all seriousness, I'm gunna go with Prey. I really liked it, and it was left WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE open for a sequel, and I mean even more than District 9; it actually says "Prey will continue"-
oh nevermind, they are making a sequel. Still, thought I'd draw attention to this awesome game :3 I'll instead go with the Dungeon Keeper franchise. Dungeon Keeper is and was a masterpiece and deserved a good sequel, which it didn't get, but even then, DK3 was canned when EA bought Bullfrog -_-. Would've been most epic, methinks.

I also hope for a sequel to Force Unleashed (have to be a different main character of course). It was so much better on PC than it was on FAILBox or Wii.
