The Orange Box, the only thing I liked was Team Fortress 2, and this was the PS3 version...Half Life 2 was immensely overrated.
It's PS3 WHAT DID YOU EXPECT.
You Hl2 is awesome. AND PORTAL. WHAT ABOUT PORTAL?!?!
Or did you just conveniently miss that little gem because the escapist LOVES portal?
PS3 or not, it was still on overhyped pile of turtle shit. I played Portal and never saw the "wow" factor everyone was on about.
Seriously, it's because you played it on PS3.
And how would it make the basic game any different?
Some games are made and equipped for PS3, some games are made and equipped for PC - the fact is, these games were meant to be played on PC and the PS3 version have very limited support.
That doesn't explain how in any way the games would be different on the console. Give me solid proof that the gameplay is different on the console then on the PC beyond controls. If someone doesn't like Oblivion on the 360, chances are they're not going to like it on the PC even though the PC version is superior.
Okay, okay - I said previously: "It's because you played it on PS3", what I clearly should have said is "Perhaps it's because you played it on the PS3".

Also, it's because of controls, the PS3's R2 button, in my opinion - isn't sufficient for shooter games.

And notice how I said In my opinion.
The ps3's R2 button is shit. But did you notice how he didn't complain about the controls? He said he didn't like the game not the game's controls.
It could have been because of the controls that he didn't like the game.

New Super Mario Bros Wii. It was fun and funny, but for the short time it took for us to beat it it wasn't worth $50.

Champions Online. By lvl 30 (3/4 of the cap) I was still waiting for a coherent plot to appear. The gameplay itself wasn't too bad, but the rest of the game ranged from mediocre to terrible.

I don't understand all the hate for Mirror's Edge. Sure it had many flaws but I really don't see how it's *that* bad; I was disappointed, but didn't regret buying it.

Anything by Ubisoft.

Ubisoft does not deserve our money, with their moronic DRM practices.
Hey. I resent that. Ubisoft released good games for the last console generation: Beyond Good and Evil and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time come to mind. They seem to have swallowed an entire ocean's worth of crazy juice more recently, though.

I've said it before in other threads: Conflict: Denied Ops.
AKA: the reason I do not impulse buy games and now conduct thorough research on games before I buy them.

I didn't even get past level 2, it was that bad *recoils at the memory*.

While possible, I find it highly unlikely that someone who plays console games would hate an entire game terribly for a single button.
If you spend the entire game with your hand aching, are you going to have a fun, enjoyable experience?

Final Fantasy VIII. It's the game that made me realize I really don't like JRPGs at all. So it's not really the game I regret but the whole genre in itself.

There's a world of difference between "overhyped" and "pile of turtle shit", this is one of my pet peeves.
Do you actually think Half-Life 2 is terrible? Rubbish? Badly made? Because that implies it has no redeeming qualities, which is frankly absurd.

Now we can get into a massive argument about opinions being subjective, but that only works within reason. Big Rigs is objectively bad, Half-Life 2 is objectively Not Shite. Same with Portal, just because you can't see the wow factor doesn't immediately make it crap. Does everyone here only have binary opinions or something?

I do however agree with you, Half-Life 2 is overrated, in that it's only Damn Good rather than The Messiah.

Borderlands. It was fun and all, but it really doesn't have any replay value, and now that I'm done with the story...eh.

Bioshock
Borderlands
Colin McRae: Dirt

And yes, the PS3 version of Half life 2 was noticeably crappier than the PC version, which was indescribably better.

Army of Two. By far the worst game I've owned this generation of gaming. Traded it in the very next day after 3 hours of gameplay.

Never made that mistake again...

I play the Wii on rare occasions, so yes I have. The game just has to be, you know, good.
A fair point, Sir. But pain isn't a personal preference for me.
