Warcraft 3 and Starcraft. I actually like the story (yes, the story! It's what those little cutscene things in between missions are all about) and the setting of both, but I am utter crap at RTSs.

Civilisation 4, it's a great game but on the harder difficulties the computer has already mastered space travel and atomic bombs while I'm still fmbling around with the intricacies of the wheel.
Good man! :) CivIV is awesome. Specialise your cities towards production or commerce (so don't go building a Bank in a production city, or a Forge in a commerce city). Don't automate your Workers or your citizens - assign them yourself. Don't found religions. Choose a handful of Wonders that are absolutely crucial to your strategy and pursue them to the exclusion of others. Settle your 2nd city by 2000 BC. ALWAYS build a Worker first unless your capital is on the coast, there's seafood within its borders, and you start with the Fishing tech, in which case Work Boat first is better. Try and be the first to Liberalism. TRADE TECHS - try and trade a tech away to multiple civs in one turn, so that you can benefit without them really being able to trade it to each other. If you're building a Wonder, hold on to the tech that allows you to build it until you're close to completion, then trade it away for as much as possible. If you're playing as Inca and you find an opponent nearby, rush them with Quechua (especially on higher difficulties, when AIs start with Archery). If you're playing as Persia or Egypt, beeline to Animal Husbandry, hook up some Horses, and rush someone with Immortals/War Chariots. If you're playing as anyone else, you can rush with Axemen but not with Swordsmen (Iron Working takes too long to research). Have around 1.5 Workers per city. BUILD MORE SIEGE UNITS! Take at least twice as many siege units to a battle as normal troops. Use them to first bombard away city defenses, then sacrifice a few of them to deal some collateral damage (you'll see two or three suicide catapults usually increases your combat odds from ~15% to >60%). If you wage early warfare, get to Currency or at least Alphabet as soon as you possibly can - this will enable you to build Wealth and Research respectively, thereby scraping you out of the economic grave you've dug yourself once the war is over. Keep good cities but raze the bad/mediocre ones. Aim to have 4-6 cities at 1 AD.

That's as much advice as I can think of right now. :)

As much as I don't care for them I want to be better at fighting games and maybe racing. I have always found myself almost genetically bad at them no matter how much I play them I would never get thr hang of 'em.

I'd love some godlike FPS abilities, I'm average at best when it comes to Halo 3's multiplayer and struggle on the hardest difficulties for most any other FPS game (I think I got about a third of the way into COD4 on Veteran before giving up - which might be a good thing given how much I was dreading the fairground at the end of the flashback level).
Ah yes One shot One kill, I still think that is the hardest part in the story on par with the last level. I remember dreading that level as it took me an entire day passing it on Hardened. I finally did it though and felt great beating the game. Now if I could only skydive to FUCKING safety I would never play that game again.

Street Fighter, sure I have my moments, but it's pretty rare.
Guitar Hero, I can do pretty well on medium, can do some songs on hard and exactly one on expert (GH 3, by the way, haven't bought any of the others)
Strategy games, I usually just turtle like crazy, the only game where I show some semblance of skill is Warcraft III.

Age of Empires 3 multiplayer. Whenever I play a rush match, I've hardly even begun building my first unit before they attack.

First Person Shooters. Actually, First Person games in general. And it's not so much that I'm bad at playing them, it's that the first person perspective makes me kind of dizzy =P

I wish, I wish I was good at Team Fortress 2. The classes, the humour, the upgrades and bonuses, everything about it is great, but I just can't get any enjoyment out of playing it. Everyone likes TF2, and I just can't get into it no matter how hard I try. Makes me feel a bit sad, because it seems like there's so much fun in there that I just can't get to.

I'd love to be amazing at real-time strategy games. In reality, I'm limited to sending my whole army at the enemy's base.

Rhythm game drums. I've only played them, like, what, 3 times in total, about 2 songs each time, but I would really like to become better at them.

Also, playing a drums song on expert is awesome for showing off.

Online games. No matter what type of game, I always get owned badly. Except for COD 4, I was actually pretty good at that.

Shooters, I have this weird thing wherein i constantly die die die, sometimes lucky to get a kill, but then in other rounds I'm a fucking unstoppable god, which is weird as shit. At least if i was consistently bad i wouldn't bother playing them, lol (though I've always been a god in melee, =])

First Person shooters in general. I'm okay at a couple of them, but I usually get my ass handed to me online.

Any console FPS, since I suck with the controls, and some of them look fun on there.

Oh, and TF2. For some reason I can never do that well on any class except for the Sniper.

RTS genre, against the computer my turtle until large army then conquor the map in one rush works reasonably well but against real players...i suck.

It's because I lack the effort needed to really study the game and work out stratergies.
