No, because the storytelling is different and as such doesn't work without something being added, and at that point you piss off the fans. So you can't win making a videogame film, they're either bad, wrong, or both.

Beyond Good and Evil has potential for a great CG movie.
Also, they should try at the Darkness again.

I will tell you one thing. If they ever make a live-action pokemon movie, I'm probably going to lose my mind.

I already lost one childhood passion, the Dragonball series, to a live-action crapfest.

I think it would be interesting to see an Assassin's creed movie or a Metal gear film.
Except that both those movies would be about 6 hours long (at least.)

Battlefeild Bad Company. It has a good story, I just hate Battlefield. A Half-life movie would also be good, so long as they do a side-story thing that doesn't revolve around Gordon Freeman. And Eat Lead - that game really should've been a movie in the first place!
You ever seen Hogans Heros its around the same thing as bad company but Nazi gold instead of Mercinary

I would like see not just one game movie, but ALL game movies made like how the Promo trailers are. Shrek but with a Lancer, and blood. Its better, cause you don't have to pay Top actors millions. Just make a 2 hour game trailer. Save you millions. Halo, with animation from Dreamworks...or Bungie...

Sadly, it feels like an inevitability given its status in popular culture nowadays. I see such an idea as a cheap buck maker that gamers around the world would end up preferring to forget.

Fallout - Seems like no one wants to try and compete with Mad Max or Waterworld. Everything's about the apolalypse lately, but not afterwards. I think we're due for another post-apocalyptic movie soon.

I don't like the idea of RPGs being turned into movies, but they'd work if you picked the right ones. Any involving teenagers saving the world/universe wouldn't work; only epic tales like the Narnia books make that work without being utter cheese. I think Suikoden would work, and you have lots of content to work with. Any others I'd have to think about, but you run into too many cliches with many RPGs, and creating another movie in a fantasy land with magic and dragons after movies like LOTR, Narnia, and Eragon came out... your comeptition is gonna be stiff.
A) They are making a Fallout movie. And a TV series.
B) The Witcher might make a good RPG movie.

making a half life movie would be great, but you'd only be able to have gordan in a couple of scenes since he's a mute. Maybe make a "half-life:blue shift" or "Opposing forces"

None as game-movies (with the exception of the Resident Evil Movies) makes babies cry. You don't want to make babies cry do you...

Metal Gear. Although half the game is a movie, I think having Old Snake blow up a terrorist building with a Bond-style pen would be awesome.

I've heard this and a Halo movie. I am building an xbot-movie bomb shelter. You are free to join me. Currently stocked with gaming pcs, ps3s, psps and a slurpy machine. We can survive here for the year or so these movies will come out in.

No more games based on movies, no more movies based on games. Many times it's been tried, many times it's been fucked up, let's just make the madness stop.
