I would like to see System Shock 1 & 2, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, and the Marathon series. I know they're all old games, but I have never played them and don't know where else I would find them because I want to try them out.

Galactic Cililisations 2!

Come on Valve! Please! I'm begging you here! My local game shops don't sell the series and it's very hard to get hold of the physical copies!

Seriously, on my knees here guys!

Also, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - kinda unusual to offer the whole SC franchise as a "complete" pack, except for the 2nd title . . .
Chaos Theory is on Steam

BF3, but to be fair, i'd let a frog lick my left nut, if that was what it took to get BF3 without letting EA install spyware on, and probe my computer.

Steam is a great service, with great deals, an awesome community and a amazing range, but there is that game that you wish was on there. mine has to be Roller Coaster tycoon 2, loved that game and it's a shame that its not on there, espacally with the third and argubly worst (not saying its bad though) installment being on there . What do want on there?
-Goldeneye (N64 version but emulated online)
-Halo 3 + Reach (with dedi servers)
-Resident Evil (Perfect Port of Gamecube remake)
-Time Crisis 1-3 (with mouse aim support)
-The Lost World (Arcade rail shooter with mouse aim)
-Minecraft (integrated with Steam community + mod service)
-Shadow Complex
-Castlevania: Symphony of the night
-Battlefield 3 (only to dodge Origin Spyware)
-Doom 1 + 2 ( but modded to HD resolution, full mouse look + Steam-integrated co-op)
-Red Dead Redemption

And I know NONE of these (except mabe BF3 if origin fails) will most likely never happen

I would REALLY love to be able to link games I already own onto Steam. I pretty much (ok, exclusively) buy all of my games on Steam, but I got a retail copy of the Sims 3 as a gift. Guess what? I'm never getting any expansions for it.

I'll probably scratch the disk one day when I forget to tuck it in it's nice little (litter) package and then it will be worthless. I'm not going to add to the problem by buying the stupid little box some friends to clutter my desk, and I'm darn sure not going to pay $50 for a game that I already own.

There's a select few games you can already do this with, I just wish the list was longer. Other than that, it would be cool to have an emulator through Steam and be able to buy/play classic console games on a whim. $2-5 for an old title when you are feeling nostalgic? Sweet.

Honestly, I could list quite a few. Some that even sites like GoG don't have. However, the one I would truly love to see is Homeworld.

My reason is simple and selfish. If it showed up on Steam, it could (possibly) benefit from a sales boon. With new people trying it and coming to realize how amazing and revolutionary it was, especially for it's time, perhaps Relic will see the potential for a renewed interest in the series. As a result, they could finally fulfill a dream of mine and craft Homeworld 3. Both making up for Homeworld 2 and finishing out the saga with a trilogy. Not to mention, (hopefully) releasing yet another amazing RTS.

Though, upon further contemplation, I've come to realize I'd also love to see the Mechwarrior/MechCommander/Battletech series show up on Steam. For exactly the same reasons as above. Minus the Relic bit, of course.

I would love to see Minecraft, or anything by Blizzard on there, but I know for sure that that probably won't happen.
Minecraft will not happenhttp://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/112655-Notch-A-Steam-Release-Would-Divide-the-Minecraft-Community.
OT
Kotor 2, that is all.
Did you actually read the article? They said the probably wouldn't be able to do what they wanted, not that it wouldn't happen. And in this article [http://kotaku.com/5835642/why-minecraft-and-steam-dont-mix-yet], he even says:
We are talking to Valve about this, but I definitely understand their reasons for wanting to control their platform
OT:

I would really like Clive Barker's Undying to be on there, so I can get that game. And well, honestly, every PC game. I like having them all in one place, and am starting to rebuy games on Steam that I have retail.

The only things I can think of are the EA games that aren't on there/aren't going to be on there.

Most of the old games can be obtained through some other service at this point (or, it vaporware, just obtained somewhere online) and don't really gain anything from Steam. I don't really see how Roller Coaster Tycoon benefits in any way from being connected to Steam - the only real benefits are the ability to simplify joining a friend's game for multiplayer games (doesn't work for old games anyway and a lot of the games mentioned are single-player) and the fact that it automatically keeps things patched for you (not a problem if it's an old game and won't be patched).

In fact, for a lot of old games, Steam is a problem. If you have to fiddle with things or modify files in order to get the game to run on a modern machine (I'm looking at you VtM:B), it can be really aggravating for Steam to decide to check the integrity of the files and undo all of the changes you made to make it run/fix bugs.
