Ho ho, I see what you did there.

by the way, some of the written games are very good. Like mechwarrior. May be gog will include that series.

I also wish they sell omikron nomad soul

Also, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - kinda unusual to offer the whole SC franchise as a "complete" pack, except for the 2nd title . . .
Chaos Theory is on Steam
I think he meant to say Pandora Tomorrow, seeing as he did say "the 2nd title". IIRC that game had problems, not the least of which is that they still had the alarm = instant failure carried over from SC1 for a lot of the missions. I recall being very frustrated and underwhelmed with that game, but I suppose for those who haven't played it before, it would be worth having it on Steam just for completion. Note also that Hitman: Contracts is conspicuously absent from Eidos' Steam catalog when the other 3 games are all present and accounted for.

Just a quick googling revealed that there are big time shadow issues on nV cards with SC:pT (forgot about that), although it wouldn't be the first time that Steam sold a game that had issues on certain hardware *cough* Stubbs the Zombie *cough*.

OT, I was not in any way surprised when the BF3 official announcement game down the pipe, but still disappointed. More so that I'll be forced to use Origin whether I download or buy retail, since there's no way I'm not buying the game on PC. I'll be arsed if I'm going to buy any DLC for the game, seeing as that was the main sticking point between EA and Valve.

Edit:

In fact, for a lot of old games, Steam is a problem. If you have to fiddle with things or modify files in order to get the game to run on a modern machine (I'm looking at you VtM:B), it can be really aggravating for Steam to decide to check the integrity of the files and undo all of the changes you made to make it run/fix bugs.
Agree on the first point, although Valve's excuse is that it is merely providing the platform and it is the responsibility of the publisher to ensure compatibility of old games. I'd say it couldn't hurt for Valve to at least lay out some guidelines for QC on third party stuff, as it's ultimately their name on the client and they do take a cut of sales of said software.

As for your second point, that's why you make a backup of the stuff you changed. Luckily because of the integrity check feature, you don't have to worry about backing up the original files.

I would love to see Minecraft, or anything by Blizzard on there, but I know for sure that that probably won't happen.
Minecraft will not happenhttp://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/112655-Notch-A-Steam-Release-Would-Divide-the-Minecraft-Community.
OT
Kotor 2, that is all.
damn you, i was hoping i'd sneak in to say kotor 2

(i already have it, but i'd like to contribute to obsidian as much as possible, and who knows if they reaped some profits together real quick they might be able to integrate the 1.6 version of the restored content mod a permanent part of the game)

also, i'd like dungeon siege 1 and 2 to become available for separate purchase instead of requiring you to buy the third game

That said, I'm still not sold on Recettear.
I would recommend it. it's fun in a quirky way and kept me playing longer than a lot of AAA games. that said, i got it in a pack with like 4 other games for $5, and i'm still not sold on it's sequel because the combat wasn't the best part of Recettear and combat is all Chantelise looks like. i could be wrong though

Steam is a great service, with great deals, an awesome community and a amazing range, but there is that game that you wish was on there. mine has to be Roller Coaster tycoon 2, loved that game and it's a shame that its not on there, espacally with the third and argubly worst (not saying its bad though) installment being on there . What do want on there?
RCT2 is on GoG.

Silent Storm and its expansion, the games were a lot of fun when I played them but the disks are now lost and entirely unavailable anywhere but ebay.

Battlefield 3. I'd probably buy it then.
A shame about needing Origin, and the whole alt-tab-out-of-the-game-to-use-an-external-server-browser. I still don't understand why they did that.
Pity. It looked like such a perfectly average game.

The Sims 2. I know the Sims 3 is on there, but A) I can't afford it, really, B)I'm not sure my laptop could handle it, and C) I have more fun with 2 than 3.

I'd really love to see Thief: The Dark Project and Thief 2: The Metal Age available. Thief: Deadly Shadows is and has been available through Steam . . .
I agree! I bought Deadly Shadows on sale and I would really like to check out the other two. Unfortunately I'm not sure how hard they are to find second-hand. There's always eBay, sure, but still I'd really prefer a digital download...

Also seconding System Shock 2.

There's the demo. Though it does suck it's not on the store to buy. I think it's coming though.
Game threw a hissy fit and said they'd refuse to stock it at all if Steam was allowed to sell it. The demo doesn't even have it's own page so if it wasn't for their facebook page I'd have never seen it.

Sorry, I meant Pandora Tomorrow - it's been a while since I've played the series :p

You can probably find the first two through ebay or Amazon . . .

Here: http://www.amazon.com/Thief-Bundle-Dark-Project-Metal-Pc/dp/B000WOUBFS

With more modern rigs, though, you'll have a buggar of a time getting the games to run right - although, there's a lot of info over at ttlg.forums on how to accomplish this. They're definitely worth playing, though . . . but there's big gameplay differences between the first two and TDS.

This. If not on Steam, then GOG at least. Hell, isn't Digital Anvil out of business? If so, the FL fans can petition for them to try to get the source code, I think.
