What're some games (in recent years) that you played, got rid of (or lost), but they left such an impression that you'd buy them again--despite their faults?

Heavy Rain is one for me. Knowing that that game will probably never have a sequel is pretty good incentive for me to get it again. I sold it with my old PS3 and I'd really love to play through it once more.

The original Assassin's Creed and Modern Warfare.

Thankfully, the friends (a couple) that lost them after borrowing them from me have agreed to replace them if they can't find them.

I'd buy Harvest Moon: Back to Nature again. It's been over 10 years since I last played it and I'd love to play that game again. Newer Harvest Moon games just don't come close.

A next-gen remake of the Dreamcast game Sonic Adventure. I haven't been a Sonic fan for years now, but if they kept the voices the same (they kind of suck, but it just wouldn't be the same) and the music the same and made the graphics impressive, I would buy it. Even if it came out on the consoles, I would buy an Xbox 360 or a PS3 just to buy that game.

And yes, Sonic Adventure is on Steam, but, I mean, look at it. That's hardly what one would call a "next-gen remake". >/-(

Mass Effect 1, I already have a copy of the game, but I think it's getting broken from over use. I need to get a new copy anyway, so I suppose I would buy it twice.

I lost my copy of The World Ends with You, so I bought another.

If it weren't so damn expensive second hand I'd grab it again. That's a title that definitely needs a PSN release. My sister and I had a copy actually, but then she decided to lend it to a friend from University. He subsequently moved to another province and we'll never see that game again.

As for other titles I would buy twice, I actually did buy the original Modern Warfare twice. Got it on the PS3, then when I built a gaming PC six months or so later I bought it again. I guess I technically bought MGS3 twice with Snake Eater and Subsistence, as well as having multiple copies of Final Fantasies 4-6, and owning the original FF Tactics and the PSP re-release.

I HAVE bought a lot of games twice. Sometimes 3 times.

Firstly, I rebought almost all my old hard copy PC games on steam when they were on sale. And then when my interest in PC started to wane, and my interest in PS3 started to grow, I started rebuying all my favourites on that as well.

Stuff that I've notably picked up numerous times:
Dead Space, Borderlands, all the PS2 HD remakes (the Prince of Persia games, the Tomb Raiders, the God of Wars, ICO/Colossus), Mass Effect 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum and so on. Oh, and when I found out the PSP Vita wouldn't have UMD support, I traded in all the games were available on PSN and rebought them from there.

I bought Mass Effect 1 and 2 again recently. Decided I wanted to centralise my gaming. Also Might and Magic 7. gog.com really picked up where my puny physical copies that only ran in xp or below failed.

I bought Deus Ex when it was first released in 2000. I went ahead and bought it again a couple of years ago, despite still having my original copy, because I couldn't bear the thought that maybe I'd lose or break my original disc.

How about this one: I traded in my GOTY Obilvion specifically to put towards a pre-order of the Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition.

Not necessarily purchased per-say, but I did play through Dead Rising 2 all the way through, and loved it immensely. Then, yesterday, I picked up my preorder of Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. It's practically the same game, but oh so refined. I would like to state as such that I am more than willing to play through the game once again, despite knowing the gist of most of it.

Does that count?

Lets see... Halo 3 (three times if you count ODST), Red Dead Redemption, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and that's about it.

I've bought the Steam versions of Assassin's Creed 2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction despite already owning the retail versions. They were insanely cheap, had the DLC the regular editions lacked, and had the SteamPlay Mac Versions too.

I bought Evil Genius twice on CD, lost one of the download discs each time. After a year of missing it, I bought it a third time off of Steam

Let's see here:
The original 3 Spyro games off PSN.
Dragon Age: Origins
MGS 2, 3, and 4.
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System
Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries(Need to get Vengeance too though.)
Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies
FFVII
FFIX
EDIT:(Ones I remembered and figured I'd add...the list is starting to shock me.)
Golden Sun and Golden Sun: TLA
A variety of Pokemon games.

Considering rebuying Time Splitters: Future Perfect

There's more of them I'm sure, but it's all I can recall for now.
