Games you'd like to see adapted to film

I always wanted a Max Payne game... but they screwed that one up... so none. Though the Postal movie was nice... went perfectly with the game.
And I'm really waiting for The Sims movie.

All you have to do with Metroid is take the script to Ridley (HA!) Scott's "Alien", give Ripley a powersuit, change her name to Samus, and have her fight the Mother supercomputer before she escapes. Heck, just take the movie and CGI on a power suit. BAM. Instant Metroid movie for less than a thousand dollars!

And you know what would make it even better? Add some sort of interactivity, maybe with a controller of some kind!

In all seriousness, the similarities to the Aliens series aren't coincidental: Metroid is an homage to it. It's the reason for the last-minute decision to make Samus female, and Ridley was named after Ridley Scott.

ETA: Seriously, though, I don't want to see a Metroid movie. There's pretty much no way to do it right that would preserve the things that make the games so great (the solitude, the exploration, etc).

Going by the assumption that the resulting films would actually be decent, I'd love to see the entire Legacy of Kain series put on the big screen. The epic storyline is just what's needed to stem the tide of horrendously unfunny (and maddeningly popular!) comedies and the like. Not that I don't love a good comedy, but that's the problem: they're the very opposite of "good".

I'd like to see Halo done into a movie, but only if done really well. Which if it ever become a movie it wont be done well. No video game movies are.

Also, Portal would be very interesting, regardless if it can't fill a 2 hour quota.

Now Portal, that would be awesome. I agree, it could just be an hour and a half of awesomeness. I won't be happy with it unless it incurs the same amount of motion sickness the game gave me.

Also films for MDK, maybe one of the Need For Speed games, and Banjo-Kazooie.

Oh, and Peggle.
