Final Fantasy X, Golden Sun (1 and 2) and Exalted (technically a table top RPG but regardless...).

I don't say it with a lot of pride I suppose, but regardless, I am pretty fanboyish towards those three. I'm a step away from building an effigy of Lord Alex really...Still, I at least hold myself up to the standard of using decent arguments for them, not just "OMg you so dum if u dont like them!!!1!! i think u should play tem lol. Gramer is for n00bs!11!!1".

Any of the Tomb Raider games, including Angel of Darkness (although I will admit that the game felt unfinished)

Fallout 1 & 2, these games are masterpieces, despite the bugs and turn-based combat.

There's no game that can be legitimately defended valiantly. No game is perfect, not even Portal.

EVIL GENIUS,

SWEET, PERFECT, INCREDIBLE GODDAMN EVIL GENIUS

cough...

I notice how largley-unnoticed games with major-to-minor bug issues usually have greater fanbases and roots in gaming culture (BGaE) Than perfect games

I'd defend Starcraft to the end of my days. The RTS genre has never seen a more perfect game.

Any game by Valve (<= Fanboy), Dead Space, and Mirror's Edge.
What about episode one? I am a valve fan boy too but episode one was downright dull. Research and Development mod is actually far more fun that it. Even Minerva came close to been more interesting, and I compare it to a mod because that is how well made it was. Slightly worse in fact, at least mods don't break down on my computer upon playing every five bloody seconds(I own a better computer that can play it now but still). You spend the entirety of Ep1 running from the citadel with absolutely no plot advancement aside from obtaining a package that only becomes relevant in Ep2. In fact episode 2 is, albeit very short, the best of the series. While episode one can easily be skipped.

Silent Hill 2.

And possibly Tetris.
I defend Tetris from my friends who only like new games and say it sucks and I defend pokemon , but not when people say it's getting old and it's repeating , it's when they say it's a game for little kids and so on.
I pity anyone who call themselves gamers and never played games such as Tetris, Space Invaders or Pacman.

Oh, and about Pokémon... the show is intolerably idiotic, but I think the games (at least the ones I played) are a lot of fun. ^^

Metal Gear Solid 4. I'll defend that till I'm dead. Though... to be fair, I'd probably drop the argument if someone threatened to prematurely end my life :p
