my dad has owned every console in the nintendo franchize, and even had the Atari, he loved to play the original Zelda Game, and finished it in both ways, with all the secrets, when he upgraded to Super nintendo, he finished Zelda again with everything and loved Super Mario, when we upgraded to N64 he finished Zelda again (but with much difficulty, the game was heavily filled with written things and he never learned english, that was a step back for him) and he played Turok, he finished all Turok games (he is obsesive compulsive and actually played thoudsands of times untill he LEARNED every enemy, every setting, every map, every way) he mastered those games.
he bought the game cube and finished yet again the zelda game (with my help because this time, withouth knowing english it was almost impossible), he then bought Resident Evil 4 and the "Turok effect" came again, our game cube was stolen and he bought the Wii, he re bought Resident evil (because the disk was inside the game cube) and finished it, we bought red steel and finished it, we got Zelda... and this is the first Zelda my dad has ever trown away in anger, he never liked it, recently he bought Mario Galaxy but found it too complex and confusing (he never got the hand of 3rd person panoramic view) he hasn´t played any other game again, well he bought Turok PC but he hated it for it´s quick time events, anywhay, he hasn´t played games since that, except perhaps for Texas Holdem app in facebook.
the thing is, every single game is so filled with text he gets frustated because he doesn´t know english, he hates to play and not knowing what he is doint (red steel was subbed i think), and i think he is right, if games are more story ridden, translate the damn things for all the other countries, i must say that the gamer that was inside my fader was murdered by words.
i know there are some games that are translated, but my dad didn´t liked those... who knows what kind of games he likes...
as for my mom, remember what Yahtzee said about house wifes and video games?? well, my mom playing games is like a kite trying to fly a cat.
the last time she tryed to play one was Golden Eye for 64, she kept running at the wall... and going in circles.
hahaha
