What games or game series did you you enjoy so much that you are looking foreward to a sequal even though it hasn't been announced? One rule before I get onto my examples: you have to genuinly believe that there will be another game at some point, by someone.
Three I can think of off the top of my head:
The STALKER series: Clear Sky's laser-guided grenades made it almost impossible to play, but the addition of the weapon repair and upgrade system made Shadow of Chernobyl seem a bit.... empty. Call of Prypiat got the 'good game' thing along with the upgrade system and even included better anomilies. I'm hoping the next will be even better. Somehow.
The Elder Scrolls V: What can I say? I've only played Morrowind and Oblivion but each were both shining examples of roleplaying games that wern't afraid to go against the Neverwinter Nights/D&D formula and were all the better for it. Yes, Oblivion was a worse game and story but the graphics and physics engine (almost) make up for that. Pity about the shopping interface dragging it down. Since Bethesda pretty much went back to Morrowind's shopping screen in Fallout 3 I hope they're leared their lesson and will fix that.
Hitman: Again, I must admit I've never been able to play Hitman 1 (though not through lack of trying), however I've played through the others enough times to earn Silent Assassin on every level... along with all the other ratings. The graphics were a nice surprise in Blood Money, but the fluid story was even better. I thought, at the time, that Contracts' method of splitting up each assassination worked, it was more of a peak into 47's life, we didn't know how or why these people were wanted dead, they just were. You were an assassin. Then Blood Money went and showed me how wrong I was: killing the target still happens, but taking out a few people for yourself never hurts. If you get paid for them, of course.
P.S. I really do hate that shopping interface in Oblivion. If anyone knows of a mod that reworks it to be more like Morrowind's, send me a message.
