Games you've beaten so hard they needed dental records to identify the body?

Hmm...mine are a bit different.

Deus Ex: Did you ever find out about the gas grenade glitch? Or the LAM stepping one? I must have played this like a half dozen times, and augmented MP was SO MUCH FUN :D

DDR: Well, perhaps not DDR in itself but on ITG2 (with DDR songs) I was able to do a LOT of songs with...Boost, Shuffle, Flip, Boomerang (I think?) Dark, and Judgment Off and get A's or AA's. :)

RO: Oh god, dark memories for sure, but I've been able to partner kill a lot of boss with a creator + acid demo.

Games that I am TRYING to beat ridiculously hard:
Disgaea DS & Shiren the Wanderer (Argh Fay's Final Puzzle is ridiculous >.>)

i dont know about that one, i`m one of those gamers that kills every single game that comes my way then buy the strategy guide to see what i missed, which usualy aint much, i think the game i killed themost would need to be runescape, the new updated and the old and even runescape one, but i`m playing wow now, thats the next game i shall kill.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivian. I think I've done like 99% of the missions, collected all of the deadric artifacts, mastered every guild, saved Cyrodill, Ended the greymarch. And now all I can do with my main character is continuously attack/kill the prophet in the street while the guards just stare at me
Ditto.
With one character: Found every 'place', completed every single quest (minus the choice quest in shivering isles), was the head of every faction, every skill at 100, every attribute at 100 (using th ol goto jail and lose skill points trick).

I owned that game.

Ratchet and Clank 2. Still my favorite game of all time. I delete my save periodically just so I can beat it again, to 100% in challange mode, every weapon to Ultra, skill point, platinum bolt, ship upgrade and so on.
Can relate to that, bring back the impossible challenge!
But i've done it for 1,2,3,4 & 5
I'd say i've pretty much owned ratchet by now

Also done it for Tombi 1&2 (fantastic platformer): All events completed (there are lots), every weapon, periodically go back and do it all again, you know

But usually i don't bother "maxing out" games, i just beat them over and over again

Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn + expansion
Front to back, left to right with a wizard, a fighter, a ranger, a thief, a monk, an archer, a shapeshifter, good and evil. Crafted every weapon, explored every nook and cranny and completed every quest, most in multiple ways.

I especially loved creating off kilter parties.
Viconia vs Aerie: FIGHT!
Ahh good times. As much as I disliked Aerie, it was totally worth keeping her around just to listen to her and Viconia ***** at each other. :D

Lesse, I ran Chrono Trigger into the ground pretty hard. Level 99, all the ultimate loot, etc. etc. It was fun beating the tar out of Lavos with just Chrono. I've played through Mechwarrior 4 more times than I can count. I was able to get basically everything mapped onto my X52 HOTAS and pro flight rudders nx using this setup to control the mech adds a crazy new level of immersion. I highly recommend everyone tries it out.
yeah, I did Chrono Trigger too

I even wrote a step by step walk through for the game, including every single sidequest for my mom. She was playing it and I got tired of her constantly asking me what she had to do next.

So I sat down and I started with "Choose New Game" all the way to "Watch Ending" and about 300 steps in between :p

Warcraft 2: I beat it, beat it again, made custom maps for it, made really difficult maps with enormous death enemy bases and beat them, then I lost the CD...

Red Alert: Beat it, beat it some more, played with mods constantly, beat the ridiculously difficult expansion (I think I beat it, though I'm not sure), and I think I finally managed to best the ant missions.

I bet if you polled GameFAQs' leading contributors you'd find a story or two similar to yours about how they got to writing for that site.

lol, probably, I also wrote a walkthrough for Onimusha, and I actually expanded on the chrono trigger walkthrough, got about half way through a real walkthrough, lost interest and lost the file in a HD crash.

Onimusha also has an interesting connection with me as well, I used to have trouble with the water trap puzzle, so one day, I learned the solution, and for about a month, I would just move my hands infront of my face in the direction that you had to move the blocks.. sort of like the hologram screens used in that crappy Minority Report movie.

Galaga, classic and always fun.

Ace Combat 6, first game that actually made me want to go on the harder and harder difficulties to get the next plane or badge and such. Always fun flying around and launching twelve heat seeking missiles at a time with the touch of an button.

The original Jak and Daxter. When I bought the game, I beat it with 100% the next day... then again the next day... then I wanted to play the game that I JUST bought for more than two days, so I created a challenge play-through that lets you get to the very end of (and one Power Cell short of being able to complete) the game without picking-up a single Precursor Orb (that last Power Cell is guarded by some Orbs I was never able to find a way around).

SMB3 I've beaten that game so many times it's not even humorous. Nowadays I just go straight for lvl 5 and the Tanooki suit just to get my pulse up.

I completed Wind Waker with every single figurine obtained in the Nintendo gallery.
Basically that means taking a photograph (pictograph) of every single character, enemy and boss you meet and taking them to a the Nintendo Gallery. Bearing in mind you can only carry 3 photographs, and that to get some of the one time only characters you have to keep completing the game, you can appreciate that this is a big ask!! I don't know what drove me to do it, it was like I was obsessed or something :(

The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Pwned and did everything
Dawn of War 40K series: Did every campaign, with every race on the highest difficulty.
Mass Effect: Maxed out soldier which wont bloody die. Overpowered assault rifle, best armour, too much money, the game is only difficult on the highest difficulty in boss fights now.
TimeShift: Completed the whole game on highest difficulty and never died but that's not really that difficult at all.

GTA IV, I beat this game so many times, and once I did it where I would only walk to destinations instead of drive, I beat that game so hard

EDIT: Oh, and Mass Effect, I beat every side mission, went through every dialogue and bought everything, I had so much omni-gel from conversions I didn't know what to do with it.
