So I've been playing LA Noire on and off for the past few months and I've just been moved onto the vice desk.
I've put several hours into the game but I just can't go on, especially after the last mission I completed. It involved finding a piece of poetry that is supposed to give a clue as to where you go next, which will give you another poetry piece - but I found it them all too hard to figure out, so the mission basically involved me driving around until Cole said: "Hey, this is where you're meant to go."
Even if you cut out the time I wasted being stupid, all that mission involves is an hour and a half of driving around, interjected with crap action sequences.
I was bored before, but this mission was just the last straw and I'm probably never going to play it again.

Another game that I spent hours on and almost didn't finish was Final Fantasy 8. My two brothers got bored of it too. In this case I picked the game up again like a year later just so we could see the ending.

So what games have you spent ages playing but know you won't finish?

Grandia 2, Prototype, FF9, FF Dissidia Duodecim. The first three because they're too fun for me to want to finish (and restarting just wouldn't be the same), FFDD because I lost interest.

There are probably more, but I can't name them right now.

Oblivion, I've done all the guild quests I've done most of the side quests but I never did the story for some reason. That and its hard to finish the story when I keep restarting because I want to be something else.

Borderlands with all its DLCs is a really outstanding experience and even level grinding is fun. I just don't want it to end. :D

Definitely Oblivion. I put endless hours into that game but have only actually beat it once. I usually start losing interest once I make it to the end of the guild quests and only have side quests and main quests to do.

Any time I replay a long RPG.

I get to the end but know I don't want to fight a ridiculous boss stage.

I've had New Vegas since it was released. Got it on PC.

I've played it for literally weeks on end. Added mods, player made quests, player made areas and all that jazz.

I've never seen the end of the game.
